The 1931 film isn't adapted from the book per say, it's adapted from a stage play that was adapted from the book (Dracula 1931 did the same thing). the assistent character, Frtiz, originated from a different stage play of Frankenstein. A lot of early films are taken from stage plays. I feel like that gets lost in history. Random fact.

Hammer's "Curse of Frankenstein" was made the way it was to avoid copyright problems with Universal. So, they made Frankenstein the real villain (as many felt he was in the novel) and the "creature" is his first victim, condemned to a living hell of endless vivisection by the heartless scientist. At the time of its release around 1957, it was considered really horrific. Peter Cushing built a career from the character, but Christopher Lee hated the character of the "creature" as it was written, and would not do another Frankenstein. Instead he moved on to be "Dracula" and made his fortune there!
@MostIngenious2 ай бұрын
Really enjoyed this video, Chase, but it is weird that you would skip Bride of Frankenstein, and review The Bride, which is more or less a remake / re-imagining of it LOL The 31 original and the sequel totally go together as one movie - both based on different parts of the original book. It even has a cameo by Mary Shelley! 💜 For my money, despite being a sequel it is my favorite of all Frankenstein movies ever!

Especially considering that Chase only has 50k subscribers. Not that it isn’t impressive, but it’s not a very large number. In my opinion, it’s much less weird for a creator with 50k subscribers to take a sponsorship from a shady company than for a creator with 18 million subscribers to do the same. When you’re a larger creator, you can afford to not take sponsorships from companies you dislike. This isn’t the case for smaller creators. KZbin is a source of income for many, even partially, so sometimes you have to take what you can get. I do hope that as he grows, he vets his sponsors a bit better, but at this point, I agree with you. He should get that bag, because he deserves it.
