i’d like to see some of these movies where the stalker isn’t “””crazy””” at all, they’re just entitled and probably hate women on a deep level (y’know, like the vast majority of stalkers are). a lot of neurotypical people assume that terrible people must have some sort of mental illness that drives them to do bad things and, yes, that sometimes is the case. we forget, however, that it’s just as likely that they’re perfectly fine and just Suck as human beings

@Duchesscarml4 жыл бұрын
I agree, to an extent, but there are levels of crazy. You want to label the extreme, cookoo-hearing voices, as crazy. But what you described is a level. They may have a valid reason for their hate of women, or whatever, but it doesn't make them any less psychological. Both of these examples need to sit on a professional's couch and talk.
@winsomejacobs75484 жыл бұрын
Duchesscarml not really, actually. sure, going to therapy may be helpful for violent misogynists (as it is for literally everyone), but that in no way means that they’re mentally ill. the stigma we’ve created around poor mental health makes us believe that being “crazy” and violent are one in the same, but that’s honestly not the truth. and when it comes to the “extreme, cookoo-hearing voices” people, the media has done them dirty in ways that are honestly horrific. plenty of people hallucinate, whether they have psychosis (NOT a psychopath, btw), are going through a manic episode, or are completely neurotypical but under vast amounts of stress. the vast majority of these people are kind, upstanding folks, and yet 90% of film and media including them portray them as “””deranged, violent yahoos who CANNOT be reasoned with, are essentially mentally animals, AND their disorder also gives them superhuman strength while they’re chasing you, btw”

As a mentally ill person myself with a lot of different mental illnesses in the family as well, I hate, hate, HATE it when movies show their "crazy people" in therapy and/or on psych medication and especially if they put a name to the disorder, because that is where all the stigma around mental illness, mental hospitals and therapy comes from, and these movies NEVER portray an illness the way it actually works. SCHIZOPHRENIC PEOPLE ARE NOT DANGEROUS. BIPOLAR PEOPLE ARE NOT DANGEROUS. BORDERLINERS ARE NOT DANGEROUS. PEOPLE WITH DISSOCIATIVE IDENTITY DISORDER ("SPLIT PERSONALITIES") ARE NOT DANGEROUS. Actually, the vast majority of LITERAL PSYCHOPATHS are not dangerous. Fun fact, most stalkers and murderers have none of these diagnoses. Most stalkers and murderers are just assholes. Is there something wrong with them? Absolutely. Do they need therapy? Absolutely. But also, every single person on this planet could benefit from therapy. Using mental illness as a plot device, and then presenting a completely false image of it, just makes our lives even harder than they already are.

Exactly. I have mental health issues, and I had a stress enduced psychotic episode a few years ago. I wasn't a danger to anyone, I was just terrified and unwell. I was paranoid, because any time my loved ones weren't in my sight, I thought they'd died, and I had invasive thoughts about how they'd die. I was put on a medication that made it difficult for me to stay awake or asleep, and I was just crying all the time. I couldn't function no matter how much I wanted to. I never hurt anyone, I never threatened anyone, I didn't have any desire to hurt anyone. Mental illness isn't usually violent, and in the few cases where it is, it usually comes from having experienced violence.
@LED2ify4 жыл бұрын
@@dexa6623 Exactly! My aunt had paranoid schizophrenia and when she had psychotic episodes, she was just scared. The only time she ever turned violent was when people actively tried to restrain her bc they thought *she* would be violent. If they'd just left her alone she wouldn't have done anything. Her psychosis was already telling her that other people are dangerous, all she wanted was to be left alone but random people decided they had to grab and manhandle her. Anybody would hit and kick in that situation, mentally ill or not.

One thing my dad taught me is that burning a body doesn't get rid of the DNA, especially if the bones are left behind. Burning someone just gets rid of their fingerprints. And since the body didn't look burned to like ashes, then they could still take bone marrow samples which is where blood is produced. And unless he pulled the teeth out of the homeless man's body, they would be able to know its not David. Whoever wrote this story should never be a cop or a scientist and hopefully, he never tries to kill anyone because he will get so caught lmfaooooo Edit: Also please do killer bong!!!! Any New Moon Production movie is horrible asf but so worth it!!

If you want a "Fatal Attraction"-esque stalker thriller, you should give "Fear" with Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon a watch! Or if you want a black one, watch "A Thin Line Between Love & Hate" with Martin Lawrence.

There’s actually a possibility that the actress that played Emily in New Moon isn’t native as well. Apparently she keeps changing the tribe she’s from and there’s evidence that she actually East Indian.
@kyo_qi4 жыл бұрын
I’m North Indian myself, and I see this problem too often and honestly it makes me quite sawd, idk wassup with not acknowledging one’s culture. Maybe they just want to blend into the crowd? idk? It runs quite deep actually. With some just changing their whole cultural identity to something that is viewed as more normal. Like changing religion and stuff, it’s ok to change religions, when it feels like the beliefs held by the other religion suit you best. But to do it to blend in...idk. Anyways I feel like I went on a tangent here. Sry ♡
@Mookneepie4 жыл бұрын
Pedra Van der Merwe do a quick google search of her name and you’ll find the inconsistencies. She was never able to confirm which tribe she came from and was very leery about giving details. There’s evidence that she changed her name, people from her high school or relatives talking about it. From what I gather, she did it so she could “standout” and get roles easily. Compared to getting south East Asian roles. Out of everyone from the cast she and Lautner are the only ones who don’t have evidence of her ancestry and she’s regularly talking about how she doesn’t want to be only known for her indigenous background.
@Mookneepie4 жыл бұрын
delirium-san gosh that sucks. I’m sorry my dude. Even in my country where the majority is East Indian and West African descent and there’s a large demographic of mixed people (I’m one of them) I still see people refusing to admit they’re mixed with west African or Indian. Or any of the Indigenous Tribes in Guyana. Growing up...I experienced racism and colourism from both my mom and dad’s side. Mom’s East Indian and my dad is mixed with...well every other ethnic group in the country. I came out looking more Portuguese meaning I’m light skinned. And if often hear my East Indian relatives talking about how great it is that none of my dad’s kids came out looking like his mother. Who was a African/Arawak woman and she was dark skinned. Then I had the relatives from my dad side condemning or ridiculing the East Indian side of my family tree. And even saying all of this. I know I had it easy compared to others on the country. It’s a whole ass mess.
