Cheating is sooo disrespectful. I’d rather someone tell me they’re just not feeling the relationship anymore. Cheating is more complicated. Also, considering you can contract STDs and whatever from cheating, that’s putting your partner at risk. So I agree, you do have to hate someone to put them through all of that.

Divorce isn't a thing in the Philippines yet that's probably why the mom tells her to fight. Separation also isn't a thing because if you are caught with another person while married or have kids with them you can be criminally charged for it. Also the only reason I would agree with fighting a woman for your man is if it's over sexual harassment or assault. If this was under completely different circumstances. My favorite thing about cheaters irl, is how the new girl/ mistress, even if she gets the man, he’s forever tainted in her eyes, because she knows what he’s capable of. Knowing that, if I were the wife with a rich daddy, I’d have the mistress over for dinner, explain that I know what’s going on, give him a pre packed bag, and say take him, I don’t want him anymore, he’s broken. Let her take care of this man baby because im done, if she wants to spend time worrying where he’s at and what he’s up to, enjoy! I will be on a several months long global vacation, eat pray and loving life. He doesn’t get a choice, he doesn’t get to pick, I leave him and her to feel like she’s second best, because he can’t have me.

When you said “To cheat you have to hate the person” it reminds me of a family member who regularly cheats, and full on relationships with other women behind his girlfriend’s back. But the reality is he wants to break up with her but he can’t have those hard emotional conversations. So if someone cheats it’s bc they aren’t the one for you. They aren’t content, they need to be let go, there’s no fixing it usually.

Fun fact about eating foods your allergic to: sometimes they don’t taste good!! Whenever I eat something I’m allergic to I can always tell somethings off because the food gives your mouth a very unpleasant, tingly itchy sensation right after swallowing it. Your body can also re-create this feeling whenever you eat the same type of food again, regardless of if it actually has an allergen in it the next time you eat it. TLDR; eating foods your allergic to isn’t pleasant while eating it, let alone after when your throwing your guts up and are now put of that specific dish you ate forever.

kennie, u don't understand, i was half asleep before i saw this in my notifs and now i'm WIDE awake. this feels like an early christmas present. i can say this as a mainland filipino: i personally find our movies & teleseryes that are like this-supposedly serious, overdramatic, excruciatingly formulaic, misogynistic, *very* toxic-to be MUCH funnier than our actual comedies (which tend to rely on mostly bigotry & harassment tbh at least these are hard to take seriously). this one is definitely a classic and it's an example of what usually gets made into memes here. i vaguely remember watching this movie at an inappropriately young age but couldn't really remember much because *_so_* many of our movies/teleseryes have the exact same premise, so you get confused on which scene or dialogue came from which. i've honestly been meaning to go back and watch more of the Questionably Written Yet Somehow Applauded local movies that i saw as a kid. trust me that this probably isn't even the messiest lmao. i do recommend another film of anne curtis (kara) called *THE GIFTED* (which has some classic pinoy fatphobia, but god, its script was awful that it's hilarious) and another with different actors titled *SHE'S DATING THE GANGSTER* starring our country's most famous TV couple. it was praised so heavily but once you look back on it... Very Problematic. honestly could say that about 98% of our romance movies. would recommend going through each actor's catalogue to find that a good chunk of them is just Mess. but yeah, very excited for non-filipinos to witness the absurdity-/lh and said with love!-of some of our local movies (tho some cultural things that might only be understandable or humorous to us might be confusing). *EDIT:* oh wow that was much more emotional than i remember 😭 btw, there's actually one cheating-centric teleserye that had the gall to kill off the main dude and the scenes between the wife & mistress where they were preparing his funeral were just unintentionally hilarious lmao and i agree 100% with everything that u said about cheating - it sucks filipinos here tend to value forgiveness (usually due to catholic guilt) so they easily forgive their cheating partners regardless of the pain they've caused. hell, divorce is incredibly looked down upon here. that's why the ending is like *that.*

lool South African here, we eat with our hands mostly, you just learn how to wait a little bit before you dive in so you don't 'drop it'. With food like pap (which is loosely similar to fufu, it's made from finely gound corn) you 'pull' it apart into kinda bite sized pieces which you roll into a ball and leave it on the side.. You do a few and then you rotate back to the first ball you made and then dip _that_ into the relish. The idea behind doing it systemically like that is to give each ball time to sufficiently cool down so you don't burn youself when you dip it into the relish, put it in your mouth or swallow. BC having a huge steaming chunk of food go down your throat is the worst experience. You actually feel it burn down your esophagus -_-

It was made in a period of time in Philippine cinema wherein a lot of movies made revolved around infidelity. Even TV shows would amp up the drama factors in their "kabitserye" or mistress TV series. I recommend The Mistress, one of my favorite Filipino films made if you're looking for a good plot.
