I've always adored the parallel scary old man storyline with the pigeon lady in New York that he gives the turtledove ornament to. I'd like to think Kevin still has that turtledove on his tree even now as a middle aged man with a family of his own, using it as a lesson for his kids about not judging others by appearance alone by telling her story.

Don't get me wrong, the mannequins in the basement are creepy. But it would make more sense that maybe they're there because Kevin's mom is a well-to-do fashion designer (his dad gives me a businessman feel with that trench coat), and that's how they're so rich. Alternative: they could be old money in Chicago (I have no clue if this is a thing in Chicago).
@the_nikster1

iirc it is canon that Kevin's mom is in fact a fashion designer or that she used to be and that's why the mannequins are in the basement. I can't remember why or who I know this (maybe some DVD commentary?) lol

the biggest question: how the heck did kevin get the entire house cleaned up (from the mess of all of the traps, especially the tar on the basement stairs, and from the bandits, and all of the traps themselves), with the exception of Buzz' room, which Kevin likely didn't clean up on purpose

When my family's house was being built back in the '80s, it was in an area of brand new development so there was some displaced wildlife. One evening when my mom and grandmother came to see the construction progress, they found a HUGE TARANTULA in the area of the master bathroom. The framing of the house was in progress at the time and my mom didn't want the tarantula to somehow end up inside the house (she isn't exactly logical when it comes to creepy crawlies), so she wanted to kill it. She grabbed a nearby 2x4, and dropped it on the tarantula. _IT BOUNCED OFF OF IT._ THAT'S how huge the fucker was. She ended up finding a chunk of cinder block, and THAT did the job. She always felt bad for the guy who picked up that block the next day. 😂 Yes I know I've commented multiple times but hey it'll help with the algorithm. lol

I find it ironic how Cops in the movie were more concerned about a shoplifter, rather than a lone child, because in that part where the Cop goes to the house there is CLEARLY a Light ON Upstairs, and the Cop was like, "Nobody home, the house looks secure. Tell them to count their kids again."

we really never got a child star (correct me if wrong) like Macaulay Culkin's level of performance in Home Alone (1+2), until many many years later with Dakota Fanning and her performances in Man On fire and I Am Sam, and yes, they're very different roles, but both did their respective roles so absolutely amazingly well (and I know there's a lot of other movies with good child stars in them, but they never really got the level of stardom/fame/renown/memorable as Macaulay Culkin and Dakota Fanning)

@redmoonbloodmoon3161
@redmoonbloodmoon3161 2 жыл бұрын
@@okamiartifex8813 loved AI artificial intelligence (and seen but don't remember sixth sense), but sadly almost no one knows about the AI movie, and while sixth sense is more known, it's still not close to the level of home alone and culkin, so the child star isn't known/popular like culkin's renown, again, really no child star at this level until dakota fanning with man on fire and i am sam, and like culkin, she really only had her fame as a child, though she stayed in the movie industry while culkin got out of it, so, we don't know if culkin would flop too with movies as he got older, if he had stayed in the industry, dakota and culkin were absolutely loved as child stars but lost their love and stardom as they got older

According to Google: According to the official novelization of the film - written by Todd Strasser as a quick promotional tie-in - Mr. Peter McCallister is a prominent businessman (maybe a day trader?) and Mrs. Kate McCallister is a fashion designer, thus all the mannequins that Kevin was able to use in the party scene.

I love the indoor stair luge. It's so fun! Someday I'll try it with a sled (and probably crash into the wall but we'll worry about that later) but sliding down with your pant cuffs tucked into your socks so they don't roll up as a make-shift luge works too.
