The problem is it's bogus. When he reveals "I was always there", he shows a frame at the bar where he appears in the background. I went back and watched that bar scene. He wasn't anywhere to be found. Meanwhile, Puss in Boots The Last Wish has the same reveal (Death says "I was there to witness all of them"), but this time the wolf is actually there in the corner of the frame, watching Puss fight a giant.

Here's a good thing to keep in mind: Shrek primarily focuses on fairy tales Puss in Boots primarily focuses on Nursery Rhymes There is also some overlap. That's why you see people like Humpty Dumpty, Little Boy Blue, and Bo Peep in here, and Jack Horner in the sequel.

@@eleven-hopper you can watch most movies without needing to see the first one, doesnt mean you SHOULD. people are really missing out an an amazing movie. ik the comic book style animation is super popular right now, only took everyone 6 years to actually appreciate it but whatever, but the original PiB still looked beautiful, and the writing was better imo. the 2nd one was good but it felt like it was geared towards a kid audience more, nothiong wrong with that at all, but for me its not as rewatchable because of it.

Puss in Boots is a great improvement over the last two Shrek films. The storyline is creative since it does serve a real purpose as a Shrek spinoff, the characters they introduce are likable and have well-done character development, animation is flawless for DreamWorks standards,, and has a nice set of being a Mexican Western-theme. But I do admit that the film does look a little weird looking back at it after watching the sequel, which is even better.

I agree with what you said at the end, this first one is a forgotten gem, everyone says the second one is better but i have a soft spot for the first one. Super glad you enjoyed this and don't worry about getting the second one done too quickly, we can wait. Also think you'll enjoy something a little different, spirited away is such a whimsical movie but it does have an element of horror to it, maybe check it out sometime #bingers

Jack and Jill looked UNCOMFORTABLY similar in terms of face and body type, that I thought they were siblings, too. But you know what, it's a weird and old TV trope where couples were drawn to look, dress, and even ACT alike... XD Ick-factor aside, this movie was great! I loved how the smooth the art style was. I actually prefer that to the sequel's choppy frame-by-frame one.

Personally I am a fan of “Stabby Tabby” and I say that to my cat all the time! Whoever made that up for the Puss in Boots promotion needs a raise and a bonus! Also I think I’m in the minority that prefers this more realistic animation vs the comicy one they did for Last Wish. Even though the original Puss in Boots story was a menace to society, I love how this Puss in Boots version is kinda based/overlapped with Antonio’s Zorro since he is the one voicing Puss. And I will never not be entertained by Billy getting hyped during all the dance scenes. It’s one of his best mannerisms! Also the disrespect towards MID 😅😂

Ik it’s kinda inspired by Spiderverse and Anime but after 4-5 movies including this realistic style, the comic style came out of nowhere and seemed less detailed as if we went backwards? I just prefer this one more even though Last Wish was amazing and I love it :) Also just once, if he hasn’t already, I need Antonio to be Zorro for Halloween with an orange cat by his side that is either wearing the actual Puss gear or have it photoshopped/CGI/AI-ed 😂

I give the first Puss in Boots movie its credit for being good. Not great, just good. I feel it was lacking a certain thematic something that was replete in Shrek 2 (and of course its own sequel). It was a relatively low-stakes plot for Puss's character, but it was enjoyable all the same.

I dislike Puss and Humpty's adopted mom and everybody didn't let Puss explain why he was framed by his own surrogate brother Humpty in the first place. This movie taught everybody lessons about make up for your past mistakes and never too late make things right and being redeemed. Never too late do right thing.
