Besides that, it was never said that all of these things were set up before the bank robbery, they could have been planned beforehand, but that doesnt mean they were set up. Something I noticed about the similar scenes between Alfred and Bruce after big character deaths is that in Begins when Bruce breaks down and blames himself for his parents, Alfred comforts him and tells him it isn't his fault. In TDK, when Bruce breaks down and asks if Rachel is his fault, Alfred doesn't let Bruce off the hook this time. He tells him that Bruce spat in the face of criminals and that casualties were always inevitable. It shows how their dynamic has had to change over the years. That Alfred can't just be the coddling parent anymore and has to have a firmer hand with Bruce and kick him in the ass a bit to keep him going on his path.

The vegetable cutter was there and got extra focus from the cop hesitating as likely a reference or hint to how the joker really got his scars My reasoning is that One: among all the blades that can be clearly distinguished, the cutter is the only one that isn’t really a knife or a proper weapon/tool that could be used to kill Two: It clearly got extra focus, and you also just pointed out how everything is intentional Three: The Joker is the type to keep and carry around the same thing that gave him such a traumatizing injury Four: The scars are rough and are clearly not clean cut as you would expect from a traditional knife, indicating that an alternate weapon that still had an edge that could cut was used Bonus: The cutter appeared to be damaged indicating that it was used in a way it wasn’t meant to, like being jabbed into a face and used to cut said face
@gh-gv8mx3 жыл бұрын
Nice theory!
@CorwainTheMad3 жыл бұрын
I'd like to disagree, The cutter is a weapon in it's own right, it's just a fine a weapon as most shanks. Some cutters are actually sharpened at the point, but never the edges. This one looks to be sharpened at the point and thus makes for a weapon. And I have a hard time believing that the dull edge could cut living skin and muscle i.e. the cheek. It could be argued that the point was used, I could see that as a maybe.
@blindbat19703 жыл бұрын
@@CorwainTheMad and I would also like to disagree. Anything can be used as a weapon, so thus anything with a blade can be as well. However what I noted was that it appeared to be damaged (i.e. missing the back of it that is commonly found on such cutters). I’m not sure if it’s different for others but growing up for me the cutter/peeler had more or less the same design, to blades at an angle with a back to them. And if pressed hard enough (as with any blade) the can cut skin (i.e. when I was a child and learning how to peel fruit, it got caught and after pressing down to hard it cut through and ended up slicing one of my finger tips). So if it was used purposefully to cut, especially so deep, it could; but it would of course not be clean. And out of everything that was the only blade that wasn’t actually a knife/weapon.

Joaquin Phoenix was hella great in Joker (2019), but believe it or not, Heath Ledger LIVED the character. It's like there souls mixed into one. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit but I watched the movie many times just because of his performance. Joaquin Phoenix also played the Joker absolutely brilliantly. *Ahem. Let's not talk about Jared Leto's Joker.*
@joshuagavile47754 жыл бұрын
Aryan Bhardwaj I completely agree with you. Heath Ledger & Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayals of the Joker are equally excellent, but they’re incomparable because they’re 2 different stages of the character. Ledger played the full-fledge Joker for the entirety of his film, one who is already Batman’s greatest adversary, whereas Phoenix mostly played pre-Joker who is yet to meet his “playmate,” and we only got a partial view of his Joker persona. Bottomline, they both perfectly embodied their own versions of character. I concur with your point.

I love knowing the look on Michael Caine's face (Alfred's character) everytime I watch this movie again, when he sees Ledger's Joker in full costume for the first time at the roof top party is literally not acted, that is the first time he saw the joker in the full get up. It's no accident Nolan happened to have a camera doing a close up on him as the joker bursts into the scene. Christopher Nolan is so brilliant at what he does. Hands down my favourite writer / director by a mile.. Btw, nice work on the things you picked up on, I'd love to know how many Christopher & Jonathan Nolan put in there for their amusement, that only they know about. That would be very cool. Hey Canadian Lad,I just watched this video and it was a great video. Thought I'd let you know 2 interesting details. In the scene where Bruce is having dinner with Harvey you can see Heath Ledger as on of the "guests". The second detail is when Joker is talking to Harvey in the hospital and he is giving him the choice to kill Joker,its not really Harvey's choice as you can see Joker is holding down the hammer of the revolver. So even if Harvey tries to pull the trigger it won't work. Hopefully you see this comment lol. Keep up the great videos man.
