Ah yes! This famous anime where a girl have to married her half-brother or her real brother. How romantic! Seriously, this is gross XS I don't need to see incest in a vampire story. Also, there's a simple way to remove the disgusting relation between Yuki and the boys. Make them all childhood friends. No matter which one she will marry, it won't be gross! Guess the producers of this anime didn't think of it. There's peoples who don't like incest and i'm one of them. Gore doesn't bother me since it's normal for vampires to be violent especially the level e who are crazy. Drama and action too. Unfortunately the drama is not well done in this anime but the action is cool and the animation is ok. The '' romance '' is the worst part, it's even worst in the manga. I won't say more, it's a big spoiler.

Yeah definitely super weird. That’s more Zero and Yuki, I guess you could say they are childhood “friends” but they grew up together with the same adoptive dad kind of… and then Yuki says Kaname is her old brother but I wish they explained it a little better in the anime that Kaname is more of a distant relative/cousin. Either way they are related so….not great. It’s told that incest is common among purebloods to keep the pure blood legacy but yikes. What a crazy show.

Another thing i hated in this anime; Kaname. First, he's lazy! He only protected Yuki ONE TIME and the other times he was playing chess in his room, making the other vampires watching her or using Zero. What a jerk XS Second, he '' protect '' her by erasing her memories after she met a level e. Great idea! She won't remmeber this event and will puts her life in danger again and again. Nice job Kaname! You made the situation worst with this dumb choice! Third, he treat Aido and the others like slaves just because he's a pure blood. That's so cruel! They don't deserve this! It's not a way to treat your friend! if i was a queen and had friends, i won't give them orders! I will give them gifts and a visit of my castle, will have fun with them :) The worst part? Allowing Shizuka io to be IN the school! Not only it will torture Zero the see the vampire who killed his family but it will also hurt Yuki. What makes him think that Shizuka won't attack her? Wow kaname is not just a lazy jerk, he's stupid too X) In short, i hate this character! I hate him more than Kyubei in Madoka magica. Yes what this creature does is horrible but he doesn't know it and only wants to save his planet. Kaneme KNOWS EXACTLY what he's doing and don't care that his '' friends '' dies or that Yuki dies. If he did, he will really protect her instead of playing chess in his room and bossing everyone.

True true. Yuki was annoying asf she was honestly too overpowered and too soon even in the manga. In the manga Kaname seemed to have a love interest already before Yuki came along which was honestly eww.they are related from what I could remember. I feel like the writing could've been better. I feel like it could've been something else. The love interest between Zero and Yuki is also eww because they are technically adopted to the same guy they call Dad. Y'all can't tell me "it's okay, it's anime" when we know these people are the same haters who wouldn't ship Mikasa and Eren when she shows so much interest in Eren. =-= I honestly thought Yuki felt like a side character. Zero only really seemed interested in her blood. Pureblood in this story seems to be meaning a good blood royalty type that everyone seems to love aka vampires. @@Iamsickofts My few favorite characters were Rima and Shiki. They just had a relationship that just seemed genuinely more interesting to me. Zero's brother I feel sorry for but I hate him for being such a problem for a vampire queen or whatever. Zero needs to find a better woman than Yuki who is just basically playing victim. When she dresses in front of Aido he "respectfully" looks away and Yuki acts like it's nothing. Smh she's basically asking anyone to pounce her so she can cry out for Kanamr or Zero. Trust me, Kaname is not all bad when you get to know him more. He had a lover before Yuki came into the picture. Frankly, I can't blame him for going along with what his family had set for him. Yuki on the other hand can't decide and wants both. She is just so toxic in her own way. Smh. Ruka's feelings for Kaname are justified, I see her as a good person because she would gladly accept humans because the man she loves tolerates them enough. But this also means she is willing to be open minded. She doesnt try to hurt Yuki out of jealousy like how you'd see in dramas. No she is a modest queen! Akatsuki is willing to love Ruka even with his love being unrequited and that's just so realistic because it exist in real life. Aido likes everyone, he may be a comedic character but he likes anyone and everyone. A genuine spark in the show. Takuma was genuinely a good friend to everyone. Sayori was more interesting than Yuki. She was honestly the best friend that deserved to be the the main character. Like just imagine if the camera was more on her, Yuki would look like the genuine bad friend. I mean think about it. She's a vampire who likes two guys, doesn't care for others feelings because she's absorbed in her own and she is "weak" when someone else drinks her blood. That's just someone asking to look like a victim. Let's vote that Sayori be the protagonist.

I could only last to chapter 30 and never beyond. I decided to read the plot summary and yoooooo, it’s basically world destruction because the abusive possessive ‘ancestor’ was obsessively in love with his effing ‘descendant’ and I just can’t. 🤢 Honestly, I can stomach ‘at most’ siblings. And sure, their family tree is total wack already. But daaaamn, he, reeeeeeal old and she, practically a fetus for him. What’s wrong with him. And apparently she was also in love with two guys. And what’s wrong with people who actually ship them? Also, I think Kaname and Zero had much more chemistry between them than any relationship they had with Yuki.

Exactly I said the same thing too that principle was the best character in the show. I'm sorry but, I don't not like Zero's brother I think he's the worst character in the show. (just in case besides looks) 1. The reason he hates Zero 2. Doesn't care about his parents that loved him (He even smiled when it happened) 3. Wanted to be a vampire even though he sees that his brother is struggling. 4. He wanted to kill everybody and for that he helped his resurrection 5. After all of that time, he then wanted to take him down the second he helped him resurrect. Yuki was kind of annoying, reckless and confusing to understand (Human) She felt more annoying (Vampire) Zero was treated like trash throughout the whole anime (His only redeeming factor was from Kaname) Kaname was way too cocky (Zero could've lost and Yuki could've been destroyed), it would've been his fault for allowing his master to resurrect, Edit: like for real he could've just let that other guy who was next to him just finish him off. Edit 2: I just find it funny that it feels like Yuki and Zero are the only ones crowd controlling lol I agree with the rest like exactly with the whole brother and sister thing just trending nonsense, that's why they did it. I think), falls "in love" with zero and asks him if one day he will leave his mother, if he will agree to marry her. But this happens when Ai's only 8😂 She saw more Zero as a father 'cause she grown with him... And she didn't know her real father...

Admittedly, I never went past chapter 30 of the manga no matter how much I tried to reread it. And I never ever rewatched the two seasons of the anime even though I have the DVDs for it, but I got so mad at the ending, and even more mad why the plot even happened in the first place (basically Kaname just being abusive af, and instead of solving the issue only with the party involve, decided to screw up other people’s lives as well). So I had been writing a fanfic for VK (for personal use only) so I could pretend that the real fucked up beyond repair plot never happened. 😆

So I just found this video and I must say u did an amazing job explaining everthing. I use to be a fan of this show, not so much now, but I do still read my copies of the manga from time to time. It was an interesting idea but needed better writing. I just a few smol nitpicks though, 22:15 1. The "antagonist" is called rido kuran, he is the brother of yuki's mom and dad. 22:22 2. The "red hair boy" is called senri, the son of rido and cusion to yuki and kaname. 31:47 3. At the end u mention how yuki and kanames daughter fell in love with zero. Actually it was yuki/kanames daughter Ai, she fell in love with yuki/zeros daughter ren. That don't make much sense ik but just thought that might clear some unknown info from ur video up. Question, which vampire story is worst between Vampire Knight and Twilight? To me, both are as disgusting as the other. Despite the cool action and music, the romances in thoses stories are disgusting. Also, the heroines can't defend themselves; Yuki ONLY did it at the end of the second season. In every other episode, whe she was in danger she didn't used her weapon and let the vampire attack her or if she did; she drop it. Not very smart X)

This was my first anime ever, about 10 years ago Today I randomly remembered it and I decided to read the full story. Oh and to the World kaname is yuukis Parents son. He just shared the Secret of her brother being killed as an infant to resurrect him to yuuki in the manga. He grew up as yuuri and harukas son not as their ancestor. Its a family secret. So as yuuki is in fact haruka and yuuris child to the vampire Society they are siblings. The Story was not Finished at that point but the Anime did not get a 3rd and 4th season so it looks like a plothole. On the other Hand storywise it wouldnt have made any sense if kaname corrected her at that point as yuuki hat enough to Deal with already and saying: and btw i am not your brother, He has been sacrificed to get me out of the Coffin...wouldn't have been the best choice to get the girl. Moreover her parents nether told her that the young boy she grew up with is not her real brother, they decided to raise him in Place of their son, so when yuuki regained her Memories He was the brother she remembered. But all the other pureblood pairings we know of (besides the kurans) are not closely related

I know not everyone will agree, but personally I found the first 1/3 of the Vampire Knight manga to be good before Yuki awakened. Of course the incest plotpoint surrounding the Kurans partially contributed to the downfall. It's unfortunate this series ended up being wasted potential.

To be honest yuki, zero, kaname were kind of cringe but fine at the beginning, then from season 2 all three of them just becoming more annoying and unlikeable(especially yuki and kaname). This shojo manga series is basically a flanderized mess.

In Harry Potter actually if there is a muffle parent in the your bloodline your no longer considered pure blood you would be half blood the same in the vampire knight that why the other vampire are aristocrats

i was watch the introducing and the anime sounds good to me. i am more curious why you rated it so low ( dont write because of blabla and that my anime taste is bad i did not watch it so far so i want just to watch it because i like vampires and also anime and vampires as example i loved seraph of the end and if you want critisize me for this then please try i am 100 percent can say its a very good anime and i am just sad there is no season 2. But vampire knight sounds interesting i want to watch. Another anime i was beginning was shiki but i cant find later episodes of it, but i like this anime its really phoetic and good and vampire knight is still on my list if i find once i want to show but until dont say if i should or not its the same if you tell a kid not to jump from a 5 foot high, and she beside said elena and twillight and i like vampire diaries even if its somehow stupid but its still good sry and twillight i was in cinema for it and i had good memories and in my opinion its still a masterpiece and that nikki reed is inside the show made it just more my favourite vampire movie

I just have one question. Kaname is Yuki's ancestor, NOT her brother. Sure the two of them are still related by blood, but the blood relation is separated by several generations. Can we still call it incest? I mean imagine two individuals who share one or two ancestors from 200 years ago get together and reproduce, with that stull be incest? I would think not.

In the manga, kaname actually possesses the BODY of Yuki's (now deceased) brother. So biologically, it still is incest cos it's her brother's body And emotionally it's still incest because they were raised as siblings in every sense. Obvi before she lost her memories and became human ofc

@@rue8743 I don't remember it like that. I remember the baby's blood was used to awaken Kaname from slumber. I remember he was starving for blood and attacked Rido. Then afterwards I remember he regressed his body to an infant as well as his mine to protect himself. But I admit I can't remember why he regressed himself. Also, they were only raised for a short time as "siblings" then until Yuki's parents were murdered and then Kaien Cross took over the role as Yuki's guardian and parental figure. Over the years Kaname would visit Yuki but ultimately, Cross was the one who raised her. Lastly. I admit after Yuki was turned back into a vampire she still thought Kaname was her brother. But during the arc where they lived together did Yuki found out Kaname is her progenitor, not her brother. PS. I hear you when you say that socially and emotionally they were raised as siblings. But imagine if two small children were raised together throughout childhood as step siblings. Completely unrelated by blood but raised in the same environment and home. Would you call that incest? I wouldn't. Only if you were full on blood related siblings. Just a reminder. Yuki and Kaname were only raised together for a short time as "siblings" not throughout Yuki's entire childhood. I don't mean to rant. Just sharing my opinion. All in good fun 😊
