I feel like the way he used hokkien for that little bit is the way I use dialect too. I grew up in europe but my parents are from Hangzhou (a city in east china). in Vietnam, we do similar schedule in the morning. We all assemble and stand in the courtyard, usually only on Monday morning, first day of the week. And the principle broadcast a general update, upcoming exam or events. Then we start jogging a few rounds and then we all go to our classroom. We also have to form a straight line walking to class in order. Seeing this brought me back a lot of memories and some trauma lol...
