You should prune the fruit off if it’s its first year! It’ll give the tree more time and energy to focus on growing its roots to be more established so that future yields will be much larger and sweeter! normally you’d catch it with the flower buds but stopping it here works as well.

Hi Shelby - Just my recent experience, take it for what it is worth. I moved back to California after living in Seattle for over a decade. I was there for 11 months and then took an assignment back to Seattle for three months. (I have one more month to go.) It gave me the clarity that I needed and I cannot wait to return back to the OC. Maybe you needed to have a moment in Seattle to see where your heart really is. IDK. That is how I am taking this journey for myself at the moment. I hope you figure it out and wish you all the best! :) PS - Since I have been back here I too have become very sleep-deprived. I don't know what it is. I just can't sleep.

I had the same problem with the gap after installing a blackout shade in my bedroom (also in Seattle…the solar shades people have here are a menace and completely useless). I got the Sleepy Time Tracks light gap blockers and it’s helped quite a bit.

Not sure what kind of sleep mask you have but I just upgraded to a thick tighter sleep mask & that helped a ton with keeping light out!! I was using a lighter thin silk one before. The brand I have now is Coyuchi, it’s organic cotton too!

I know you said you can’t sleep and I can totally relate! I live up in Alaska and it’s so horrible I get the worst sleep in the summer. But I know what you mean about feeling horrible- you’re in a bad mood all day, you constantly don’t feel like yourself, and you can kind of lose your “optimism” when you’re that sleep deprived. I hope the black out shades work!

You should try the sleep mask that are concaved, so they mold better to your eyes! I got one from Amazon, from the brand "MZOO" and those have been a game changer for me. like you, I'm sensitive to light as well. THOSE BLOCK IT OUT :)
