I went lure fishing for Murray Cod, but all I caught were Yellowbelly

The yellas were fired up! I walked the banks in search of murray cod but my Old Mate lure from Trelly's proved irresistible to the local golden perch population. This short little evening session kept me very entertained! I switched to surface lures as the sun was setting but didn't get a touch.

What a lovely, peaceful spot. Those yellas were great too. I think most of us had too many calories over Christmas. A few extra liquid ones coming up for new years also, 🍻🍻😁😁. Great video mate. All the best.

G'day Rohan, nice hookups mate, I went to Torramberry wier on Monday and drove around to find a vacant peace of the river to flick some lures, nothing was available mate, I've never seen so many camper's on the river like this ever, I even tried the Moama boat ramp but it was so busy it was impossible, The bank was out of question its too steep, what a waste of a day lol, I pulled up at almore wier hoping to see you there on my way home but even that didn't happen lol, 😁🤣🤣 Have a great new year mate 👍

@@RKJFishing the line for paying for the stuff I got from B.C.F. was a 45 minute queue lol, that should have been my answer to wait and go when everyone's back at work, I've never driven around to find a place like I did on Monday, 700 kilometres I clocked up lol, almost a one way trip to Sydney 🤣🤣, the track's at Torramberry are so torn up I don't think anyone in a normal sedan could get in there, Definitely a 4 wheel drive Territory.

Another great vid Rohan, a couple of nice yellas there mate, I'm actually in Cohuna at the moment and have been fishing the Gumbower creek and Thompson's weir and I have finally caught my first surface lure cod on a stump jumper that can convert to a crawler style surface lure, only a 40cm but he boofed it 5 times and took it on the 6th, and then last night took 5 cod at Thompson's weir on the same stump jumper with the diving bib and a prymil bush bandit lure, this has been the best inland fresh water fishing I have had and just what I needed after a hard couple of years in lock down on and off. Thanks so much mate. In the murray id go for a fairly large lure that dives well, old mate, stump jumper, or oar gee would work well, along with spinnerbaits

Great Video! I went to campaspe on monday around 3:30 and caught 2 yellowbellys one was 37 and the other one was 41 I was hoping to catch a cod but a yellowbelly is better then nothing

I had a great Monday in the Kayak, 3 Yellowbelly, 1 small Murray and 3 Troutcod. All on a gold Damiki Brute from Tackleclub. Unfortunately, it got snagged around a tree root in some fast water. I tried for about 30mins to rescue it. I've now ordered 2 more to replace it. Must be something with the yellow/gold colour of the lure that they're liking?
