I love the gay cruise. Especially RSVP. Tends to be an older crowd of couples who just want to enjoy each other and make new friends. Usually nightly theme parties but not circut oriented. I have often described it as the feeling in the movie of The Wizard of Oz when it changes from black and white to color. You leave the dull ordinary world to a world of colorful experience with your gay brothers and sisters.

I was on the same cruise (it was nice to meet you) and, even though I don't have as much "privilege", I had a similar experience. Most people were welcoming and friendly and respectful. Out of the 1100 people on the cruise, I only met one who was rude. I agree, most people were looking for deeper connections, beyond the physical. It was a wonderful experience.🙂

Thanks for sharing your experiences on the Atlantis, Kae. I did one gay cruise thirty years ago on a small ship called Sea Spirit, and it was phenomenal. 75 single men. It was so easy to relax, to be myself, and I made many beautiful soulful connections and lasting, beautiful memories. It was not just about scoring sexually alone. Now, I am in my 70s, sober, and the thought of going on another gay cruise (even if I could afford it) has been immensely unappealing. I applaud you for saying all you did about making yourself approachable, and how you went about it. Should I be able to do a cruise again, I would want to travel on a ship such as the Atlantis, with a smaller crowd of men who (many) also want to connect in meaningful ways, who want to travel and share of their spirit. I have many challenges still being in social situations where there is too much alcohol and drinking, a real slippery slope for me, but I'm working on healing that. I feel able thanks to your help here to reframe perspectives and define a new one where I feel myself in the future, on such a voyage, and feeling all the positive things I want out of it. Maybe all this will create vibrational matches to manifest in time that magnificent place that this mystical sage desires. Peace.

Love this video!! I totally agree with you that gay cruise is absolutely a must-have experience for every gay man…. Not because of many random sex in the spa but…. living in an environment with all people of our tribal is such an amazing experience that I don’t need to worry about anything like my dressing style, my kinky act & my speaking manner at all but just be myself & do whatever I want. Such worry-free feeling is just so wonderful. If we can’t occupy land to form our own GAY country, staying a big ship for a week is awesome enough. (Honestly, I may not be able to handle the gay drama if the cruise is longer than 10 days) … lol

Happy for you. Sounds like a great experience. I went on a Gay Hawiian Islands cruise w friends when I turned 40. Had the time of my life. Danced, dined and swam with beautiful men from all over the world. In a previous video you mentioned The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. WOW ! Really glad you did, Thank you. I had not heard of the show before. I checked it out and it's fantastic! I've been binge- watching it as time allows. I'm up to season 5 and taking my time now. Like reading a good book, I don't want it to end. The luscious fashions from the time period, the love, comedy, language, combined with the NYC locations is right up my alley. Atlantis truly does an amazing job creating the most fun environment. I had the same reservations as you when I went on my 1st Atlantis cruise. I will say the perception of the winter cruises is false. We have had the opposite to meet guys from every age group and self identified gay sub group. It’s an experience every gay man should experience

Kae, thanks so much for sharing your story; it sounds idyllic. :) I went on my first-ever cruise this year too, with VACAYA. You may know that that company caters exclusively to the LGBTQ+ crowd, and in February of this year, partnered with Celebrity Cruise lines on a seven-day Caribbean voyage, that originated in Ft. Lauderdale. Like you, I felt that it was a beautiful experience, which allowed me and many others to connect in meaningful ways. I'd certainly do it again sometime, and hope to have the chance to do so in the future.

I found a group to travel on cruises with. The travel agent goes on the trips with us and makes sure we are all welcome and have a good time. He has meet ups every day and group activities for us to get to know each other. There are private tours at each port and sometimes a service project. A lot of repeat cruisers.

I've never wanted to take a gay cruise for the same reasons you didn't want to originally. However, now that I'm in my 70s and a widower, would it be practical for a single gay man to go on one of these types of cruises?? Did you see any other single older men on the cruise? I would be interested in taking a cruise where community is number 1 on every ones' mind. I'm a social person by nature but I can't imagine being on a 1000 passenger ship all by myself - I would be more alone than I am at home!! Thanks for your vids.....I get something out of each one.

In my experience many gay spaces are not as bad for people who don't fit gay male beauty standards, as people think, especially nude spaces. I had horrible self esteem for years, nude spaces surprised me in how welcoming they are. It is nlike when we shed our clothes a lot of the negative insecure attitudes go with them (Just me) honestly 5 minutes into nudity a lot of the pressures go away and all you feel the sun and breeze on your skin & that's great.
