This is just the start of series of videos trying to catch a lion in this desert close to my place. I got out with a buddy of mine on our mules the first day and we cut a track but the weather didn't cooperate and the hounds couldn't trail very far after the track was rained out. The next day I took the dogs out and we cut the track but had a real hard time trailing. I tried to guess where she was going and jumped the hounds ahead but guessed wrong. We ended up going down and finding the track and trailing all afternoon until we ended up on top and couldn't trail any more.
You can see what it's really like to trail and hunt Mountain Lions in the Desert Southwest on Mules or Horses. You will see the hardships, the miles and the adventure involved in this style of hunting. You will see the love and care we have for our hounds. The training and care provided for our dogs as we provide them with the opportunity to do what they were bred to do. Training and care for our mules and hounds as we progress in our education of this sport. Come along the journey with me as I learn and you can learn right along with me on this quest I have to become a true dry ground lion hunter.

I was talking to a co worker today about what you mentioned in this video .. to be able to just talk to yourself when no one is there .. I have always thought it strange that a person could get up and talk in a sence to them selves about a topic at work giving a presentation or a person giving a sermon at church . How they could go on and on for hours with no feed back from those there speaking too.. almost like talking in the mirror to yourself.. I do not have this talent .. I need some feed back of some kind. I have wondered at times if the old time mountain men talked to themselves in the hills .. thanks for the video !

What an amazing life you live! I live in the country but not like that. I’d give anything to spend a few days out there! I’d pick you and your pups as my guides too!

No. Not making fun of you. Envying you, more like it. And yes it is very much like we are riding along next to you and enjoying every minute. That’s why we love listening to you talking 😀

Looking at more of your beautiful .270 country Brett, lucky you and your hounds, of course the mules too, no cholla cactus ! I was up in the Peralta Canyon area, in Arizona years ago, cholla all over, even on the trails….bad stuff. I saw a video in that area today, reminded me. Question; Have you ever had or used a full Bloodhound on your hunts, whats your view there? Thanks. 👍🏻🤠
