If your boyfriend isn't a licensed cosmetologist or barber you shouldn't be taking hair advice from him lol. Everyone needs to trim their hair its a part of life and we can't avoid it because the men in our lives are too attached to our hair. If you don't trim, it will continue to split up the hair shift until it reached the scalp and then that split permanently damages that follicle.

What's the difference between a hair oil (like the aveda dry remedy daily oil) and a serum? At the moment I don't use either because I'm really confused at what I need. But you always say how important it is to seal your hair. (btw thank you for teaching me how to hover diffuse and style with a denman brush, you have changed my life! ✨)

I can only dream of having as curly hair as you (even short, it's not that curly) I love my wavy hair that sometimes decides to be curly for a few days after my weekly wash and refused to give in to the pressure to straighten it when no one could cut it right! I followed your videos on self cutting and before I returned to work from a 8 wk medical leave, cut about 3 inches off the over all length. Everyone was amazed at how much longer my hair was...go figure! Still working on the right combination of products to tame my hair and your videos are a great resource

This makes sense. I do a hybrid of these techniques thanks to the ladies of YT. I condition my hair and trim a little curl by curl. Style and dry it and then the next day I get my husband to trim the back straight probably an inch. We work together using mirrors and not had a bad cut to date. When my hair was relaxed I hated paying to get my hair messed up. I have different curl patterns and porosity in my hair and only I know how my hair dries/curls. DIY cuts forever ♥

I've just started researching how to take care of my curls the right way. I'm 42 years old and learning to love myself; it is time to do my hair right! The sharpest scissors in my home, surprisingly, are the decorating snips I bought and never used. I ve the best curly Bob now after honestly a DOZEN cuts I counted with them. I love it. We know what needs to go more than most. After a rushed crap cut at the salon, thinning scissors ruined most of the length. Decided to lob some off myself. V happy with the results. Go try it everyone! IF THERE'S A YEAR TO TRY IT THEN IT'S DEFINITELY NOW... P. S. What was BEST about the huge sharp scissors was they cut THEE WHOLE SECTION quickly and more effectively than if I had used smaller sharp ones. Am not a hairdresser. I did do it on dry hair tho. Think that was key. Then when wet or almost dry I evaluate, as we do anyway on our curly journey, and snip off as I feel fit. The big chop is very FREEING. TRY IT! Takes years off you in your 30's or 40's or more so it's for us all. Think I ❤️ short curls forever now. Anyone in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿??? ALL THE JOHN FRIEDA DREAM CURLS AND FRIZZ EASE RANGE IS HALF PRICE OR LESS IN BOOTS PHARMACY'S NATIONWIDE. In my own personal heaven this wk. ✌🏻❤️💪🏻😊😉

Thank you so much for this video!!!!! In early December I cut a good amount off of my curls for the first time in 3 years. My hair was healthy but I've grown to love my curls and needed a change so I went short just like you and added layers. At first I didn't like it because it's such a dramatic change to go from almost butt length to chest length. This video made me realize that it was a great decision and it will just grow back even stronger. Keep up the good work gorgeous!!!

Your hair looks great! It's nice and bouncy. I like bouncy. I was wondering if you would do a review of the new curl smith protein line, the 3 products? The curl cream, the foam and the bond fixer. I'm curious about them. I like that they don't have glycerin in them. I can't use much glycerin at all because I live in the high desert with very low dew points. I need you in Chile!! In my 31 years i have never find a hair styler that knows and understand curls as you do! Not even in Venezuela (where i used to live and is a country with A LOT of curls) no one cares about curly hairs, everybody wants straigh hair, so no one makes an efford to style curls...
