You know, it's very refreshing to see somebody who goes to a GC and gets to see it for the first time where I as I work at one and mine is mid as fuck lmao. Wish mine stocked more stuff like this but oh well, they pay me. Glad you had fun Jonny.

My local GC has only beginner gear for bass. Those $300 amp and bass kits from squier and ibanez and nothing over $500 on the bass wall. Small practice amps cables that are only 10 foot no nice straps and pedal wall is just boss and behringer.

My local guitar center has nothing but absolute beginner stuff. The box kits with a cheap squier or ibanez and amp, small practice amps. Literally the nicest thing on the wall is a player series p bass not even player 2. On top of that nobody talks to you when you go in there.

DARKtolini/TURDtolini? Seriously? I upgraded the stock BH2s in my EHB to (also DARKtolini, 'cause I don't learn) P452J quad coils and it was the same DEAD crap, as every other DARKtolini I ever played (which systematically ruin every bass I've played/owned with them). Ended up putting alnico Wilkinsons on mine, pending 3D printing some covers for them to look better. They simply blow any DARKtolini I've played/owned out of the water (or should I say, out of the INDISTINCT MUD). From now on DARKtolini is going in the blacklist for me, where they'll make DEADlano company BTW. Sorry to all the (deaf) fanboys.

@@JonnyDibble all life long 👍I swapped for more Barts in my EHB because it was the only thing I could get that wouldn't take 8 months (that P4 pickup size in the 5 string EHBs is only made to order by the few that can do it). BestBassGear had a set in stock and I went with it. Spent almost 500€ (delivered to Spain + customs). They're already for sale, hope I get half of that 😞 The Wilkinsons are GREAT, and I don't have hum problems. Really reluctant to keep trying bass humbuckers, other than Leo's (who also got how to make bass humbuckers that don't sound dead first time), I own several Musicmen and P basses. The original BH2s in my Ibanez are probably going to a fretless DIY rat rod bass I have, many people mention Barts are great for fretless.
