Great to see you embrace our rugged little place up here - You communicate your joy of the natural world so wonderful Next spring - skip over to Bergen and get a rental car to Hardanger or Sogn and Fjordane around mid may when the apple trees are in full blooming and the birch is going bonkers green down by the fiords, while the spring snow still is dressing the mountains 1200-2000 meters above. That is when the brain goes "ding-dong plonkers" with geometry and seasons folding up on each other.

Great video, Adam! I really enjoy your work, but this video was inspiring in particular. I persoanlly live in the northern parts of Norway myself (Bodø), and it was very interesting to see how you tackled a typical "northern-Norway scene" in terms of compositions. I find the nature to be absoluletly stunning up here, and im sure you can agree on that :) But i find it difficult to vary my compositions. It usually boiles down to mountains in the background, sea in the middle, and some rocks in the foreground, much like the ones you showed in this video. While they are great pictures, you kind of get tired of the same type of composition after a while (for me at least). Anyways, this video still definitly gave me some inspiration, so thank you for that! I would absolutely love to see which photos you could come up with after a week in Norway! Perhaps you will return here some day? :) I would gladly guide you around the local area, or even Lofoten which is only 4 hours away (ferry) from my city ;)

Next time you visit Norway, you have to go to Jotunheimen....take a google search on it. September is fantastic up there, and on the west side of Jotunheimen you have Sognefjorden that are 200km long. You don't belive it before you see it....its amazing. Regards from Finn in Norway.

How did you know the exposure on the first shot needed to be 1:43 seconds? That’s very specific. Great vid.

I used an app called Photopills to work it out from the test exposure. I have featured it on several other videos so skipped over it on this one.

The mainr eason i went mirrorless was my now ability to see the image through my 9 stop filter for these types of shots. No more having to take it off and put it back on to adjust focus. Just use focus peaking and its awesome.

Thank you very much. I really like how you compose the picture and then describe what your settings are and what you are going to chance them to. I know each camera is different but this at least gives me ideas of what needs to happen when I hit the field. This helps me so much learning photography. New subscriber and Instagram follower

Enjoyed watching that. As soon as I saw the first scene, I knew a long exposure would make it into something great and again on the second scene, when I saw that big rock behind you, I knew you'd have to make a feature of it. The comparable shapes work so well.

I live in Norway for about 10 years now and don't even bother with those landscapes, they're pretty much anywhere you go. usually 2 hours is not even enough to get to a good spot for real landscape photography. If you ever come across Odda, there are more than 6 main hiking trails in every direction, plus extra ones, blue glacier Folgefonna, waterfalls, mountain lakes, fjords, mountains ofc, forests, all kind of rivers, famous TrollTunga any landscape photographer dream. Highly recommend.

Another super video Adam , could you please tell us / me what 10 and 16 stop filters you are using , the look the business and being screw on little or no chance of any light leak , thank you
@Firstmanphotography5 жыл бұрын
Yes sure. The 16 stop is a Formatt Hitech Firecrest. Its superb. The 10 stop is made by a German company called B&W. Its not the best filter in the world although it's pretty old now. The better ones like my six stop have a better coating that prevents a colour cast being created.

Nope, it's just not happening for you is it. The light shining on the beach rock field was the photo to take. Perhaps incorporating the large rock. It's bland and doesn't pop. They are just 'tourist' pics the sort they quickly snap and jump back on the bus. Look mate...you know it you're not stupid. Seems to me your taking pics for the sake of taking pics and not taking time out to think about it.

You really flew there for 2 hours? Seems if flights are way to cheap. Shouldn’t landscape photographers do care about nature a bit more?

Nope. I drove from Finland where I was working for the week. This channel is not a place for a discussion around the politics of flying or an individuals responsibility towards the environment. If we ever bump into one another I shall happily share my opinions with you.
