I quit going out to eat anymore because the prices are wonky, and the food has really gone downhill. We used to go out at least once a week for dinner but now a days...never. There's no way I'm paying over $100 for a restaurant dinner. Back in the 1970's we would get a steak and lobster dinner at Black Angus Restaurant for $12.00 and a full carafe of wine for $8. Blimey, where's my time machine.

Got to a stage where i never paid full price for the Hotel and food was mostly comped. Last visit cost me £600 quid for 10 nights for 4 adults. Next trip my Hotel was Free no charge at all which should have cost me $2,750 Dollars. Secret get a Players Card. Next Book your own holiday direct with the Hotel and say Delta Airlines for your Flight. Now dont book flight right away because around January to March they put out special prices out to fill the planes.

A difficult one. Sometimes even the best places get a bad piece of meat - it's a natural product and you can't always guarantee consistent quality. Or, it could be that they source lower quality (cheaper) beef and/or don't age it long enough or incorrectly. I have had decent steak in the Outback in Orlando but let's be honest, it's all about the bloomin' onion.
@ianway5512 ай бұрын
Lee, great video as always. You will be hard pressed in North America to get a restaurant to cook a fillet over medium rare. I have never been disappointed by Outback. From CONNECTICUT, USA. Yes, food prices are way up in America. I noticed at least 4 price increases since around March 2020, start of COVID-19. 1) Most McDonalds finally gave all of their employees a substantial pay increase and other restaurants followed. 2) A lot of employees at some of the meat butchering factories caught COVID-19, when working very close together. That increased meat prices. 3) There was a general employee shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic because the federal government paid employees for not working. Those three reasons accounted for an approximately 60% increase by March 2023. 4) There was another meat price increase due to staple crops, beef, chicken and etc. shortages between March 2023 and now, August 2024.

I recently discovered your channel and I'm enjoying your Laa Vegas videos. Nice job and great music. Makes me curious which music service you use. In this video, you learned why it's generally a good idea to avoid chain restaurants in tourist towns. I live in Orlando and it's the same here when you choose one of those near the airport or on our version of the Strip - International Drivee. Quite simply, you get inferior service and quality food because they know you're never coming back again. Since people can dine at an Outback Steakhouse almost anywhere, they have no incentive to do well in a tourist area because the overall chain reputation isn't based off one or two locations. I think there's another Outback a bit north on the Strip past Flamingo. Now the restaurants that primarily have locations in Las Vegas have more incentive to do well because that's their only shot to build a reputation. When I visit Las Vegas and see a restaurant chain that I could have at home, I always skip it. Oh, and my wife is (or used to be) Scottish. She's from Lanark, the birthplace of William Wallace. Yet I've never heard her yell "FREEDOM"! It's a tedious little village, anyway.

I refuse to pay high prices for steak in Vegas (unless it is comp'd). I like Jackson's bar and grill for their $20 16 oz. Ribeye steak deal. The food and service is excellent. It is a local bar about 2 miles off the strip on Flamingo rd and Jones. Best steak deal in Vegas. Yes I have eaten at the Circus Circus steak house and it is really good; and the price reflects that. but Jackson's deal can't be beat.

One of my favourite things that I miss so much is my husband and I going out for a meal and restaurant family meals. Just saying lol

Wow! That same steak here in Arizona is 30.99. Tourist trap Vegas prices 😮 Still overpriced for being Outback. I would definitely spend the money for The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. That looked amazing! I follow a meat based diet and I just got two weeks of meat for just under 100 bucks. Good cuts too. Same price as one Vegas buffet 😅 I get it, it’s a vacation. But, these days, I’d rather eat at home. And tip myself lol
