Hi Lee, I once had fish and chips and when I opened the box, the fish was so fresh, it had eaten the chips ! Lol 😂 My favourite plaice (forgive the pun), for fish and chips is Trenchers in Whitby and The Anchor in Scarborough. Also as I’m originally from Grimsby, born on bread (my mum worked in a bread factory) lol, I’ve heard it said many times in Grimsby, that the fishermen there prefer to eat haddock and not cod, as cod is considered to be a dirty fish that feeds off the sea bed. On a final note, my Granny used to work at the Grimsby Birds Eye Fish Finger Factory. I didn’t know fish had fingers ? Haha !

He got famous - and became a celebrity - by being a chef! So his restaurants are just that: actual restaurants. Of course he is not cooking at every one. But he develops the concept and the menus. 🤦

I think it is very hard to franchise your food if you are a world famous chef. I think they do it with the best of intentions and of course it is a business opportunity but it really doesn't work. Why? Because the chefs, as good as they are, are not you. Only Bobby Flay, or Emeril LaGasse, Gordon Ramsey, etc., can make their signature food. Putting your name on it doesn't make it "your" food. My wife is Korean and she can make some pretty fabulous dishes. My late sister would watch her and she was a great cook but she could not successfully copy her food. She would say, "it's good but not as good as you make it." That about sums it up.

Barry is just getting over Covid at the moment but if you get the chance you go and see him, you won't be disappointed. I've been a Barry fan for over 40 years and for his age (81) he has still got his voice and it seems the older he gets the better he sounds. The fish looked pretty good but you cannot beat British Fish 'n' Chips.
