Spent four nights at Fountainebleau back in March. While there I went to a few different restaurants, did a full spa treatment, hung out at the pools and spent time on the casino floor. I could find absolutely nothing wrong with this place. It was simply magnificent, so I've added it to my hotel rotation list, as I'm in Vegas three to four times a year.

A huge hotel like that seems like it should operate like a super Walmart offering everyday low pricing on everything. If I'm paying premium prices, would much rather have more intimate and unique surroundings, a more personal feeling. It feels like a huge dying shopping mall.

I stayed there earlier this year....my room was not properly cleaned, I wanted to upgrade my room (on a random weekday) all they needed to do was charge me an additional $750/night. But they ended up telling me I would have to reserve that room type at least 2 weeks in advance, which ended up not being accurate. Needless to say the GM refunded my stay and I told them I would never stay here again. Like my $750/ a night was not good enough. A room that cost $1400/a night. Lost my business.

They dont clean every single room on Sunday morning when the hotel clears out, they just clean what they need for that night and dont spend a ton of time on the rest. 3 reasons I won't bother to even bother to visit much less stay there - 1) Overpriced everything, 2) lousy location, 3) looks like a shopping mall inside. No thanks.f Also - would be super helpful if you guys would show what you're paying when you order food. That chicken sandwich looked pretty good - but if it's say $24, then it's a terrible value. If it's $11, that would be ok. Need to know cost for context. But great review, thank you!

I know why it's empty. I spent four nights there in October. My only chance to go to the pool, it was closed. Something about a private party. I would have thought with the number of pools and their size that maybe hotel guest could have had access to one off in a corner somewhere. Food and drinks are stupid high, even in the food court. No coffee maker in room, my girlfriend packed off each morning for the coffee bar/cafe downstairs just to get a start for her day. Slots are tight and table games are stacked toward the house. If you are muli-millionaires with money to burn, this is your place to stay. We found ourselves getting up each morning, getting dressed and exiting the property as soon as possible. Only to return just in time for a shower and bed. Will think the second or third time before staying there again.

As a Vegas regular, I can say a few things. 1. The Casino is not intimate at all. It's too big and everything is too spread out. 2. The ceilings are way too tall. As someone else said, it seems like you are at the airport. 3. The property is too large. Want to go to the spa or one of the restaurants? Plan for a 15 minute walk at minimum. 4. They layout makes no sense and is atrocious. It's like a maze with the different levels, etc. 4. It just doesn't 'feel' like a Vegas Casino/Hotel. 5. Drink service? Ha! 6. The most important? It's the location. I went one day as they had a tier match with Wynn. I got a hundred bucks of free food and then dropped about $200 on tight slots. A few weeks later, they sent me a comp for three nights, no fees/taxes and a couple hundred slot credit. They are desperate. I don't want to see anyone go out of business but I think they go under pretty quickly.

I've stayed at Fontainebleau a couple times since it opened and it's one of my favorite hotels on Strip. The main reason why I love it is because it isn't that busy. The weekends are a bit crowded but it's not crazy like the hotels in the middle of the Strip. I love their food hall and their high end sushi restaurant on the top floor, Ito, it's one of my favorite sushi places that I've eaten at.

It's because of the location and the outrageous prices. It made sense when I stopped by for a couple hours and paid $45 for a coffee, pastry, and a small dessert. The prices at the restaurants were higher than in NYC. The food hall prices needed to be more reasonable. The location is far from other strip hotels to go to different places. The patrons who visit Circus Circus across the street aren't what FB wants in their hotel. I could see staff patrolling the front door, who seemed to bounce out anyone who didn't look like they could afford to be there. The Wynn empty west lot is not helping things, as it feels empty around the area. FB announced an extensive additional buildout, but it will take years to build. FB will remain empty until they figure out a way to connect Wynn and Resort Worlds so people can stay on that side of the strip. The bridges in the center of the strip keep me in that area.

I can confirm the excellence of those deviled eggs. I have only ever dropped into Fontainebleau once, but I thought it was stunning. They also gave me like a $100 dining credit for signing up for the player program. I would love to actually stay there. I have the same reaction to cold pool water. Strangely, the coldest pool water I ever encountered anywhere was at Caesars in June 2020-yes, June. It was "so hot your phone shuts off" weather, but the water was unbearable.

I’ve been there a couple of times-and I can speak only for myself. I found the resort to be very nice but it felt very sterile. It felt like a glamorous office building. That’s not the feeling that I want when I come to Vegas--I want a hotel that has a vibe and energy. The Fontainebleau is undoubtedly nice-but I found it to be void of energy. The location isn’t great-you have to walk by some empty lots either way to get to another hotel/casino-or you have to cross the street. There are some solid food options there-but they are pricey-and secondly--Vegas is filled with plenty of good food options. I’d rather eat somewhere that has energy-and once you factor in the price of the food-going there to eat is not super motivating.

Great video! Here’s my thoughts on the reasons. The hotel is oversized with too much weird, unused space; both floors at the time had any open stores to visit (most to open next year); majority of the restaurants open after 5p; and the location. Who wants to venture out to the closest hotel, Circus Circus when spending those prices at Fontainebleau? Again, I visited twice shortly after it opened. It felt eerie And it needs a vibe that keeps the energy flowing during the day

The Venetian Palazzo, Caesars, Bellagio is the center of the action. All the shop space thats still vacant gives off empty mall vibes and that just sucks the life out of the area. Then there is not an abundance of Video Poker Keno machines and being recognized as one of the worse casinos for Video Poker isnt good. The Craps tables are very nice but they are the largest tables on the strip. Craps players know that you always seek out the shortest tables that support your play. The sports bar is nice but you also need a sports lounge with massive Tvs. So just having the sports bar is not adequate. Me personally its too bright inside feels like im in an office. To add more to the problem for it to be successful it has to steal patrons from WYNN ENCORE and Resorts World and that is a tall feat. `Plus i really dont get the Merc diving nose first in the fountain out front. I just stayed here for a conference and the hotel is beautiful, but lacking at the same time. It was more like an upscale shopping mall vs a resort. Not busy and very expensive, especially the food and drinks. The pool was closed and there was little entertainment except a piano bar and music piped in throughout the hotel. The biggest downfall of this resort is it is very far from the action, even the Wynn and Resorts World are a long walk away and the neighborhood is very sketchy and we were warned by hotel security and staff to mind where we walk outside and not veer off Las Vegas boulevard, especially not to cross the street. Taxi ride to airport took over 30 minutes and cost almost $40. Next time I will stay at the Bellagio, a much better overall experience for less money and way more enjoyable.

Fontainebleau is currently my favorite hotel/casino on the strip. I think there are several factors giving it problems. Locals had to look at an unfinished Fontainebleau for nearly 2 decades. That, coupled with its high end finishes and lack of fun atmosphere have made it kryptonite for locals. For Tourists, Fontainebleau is a bit out of the way. Although Resorts World is better than I thought it would be and the Sahara remodel has made it my go to value option on the strip, it is not a street party on the north strip and everything is far away. It would help if it were on the monorail. But until more goes in on north strip it is kinda an island that you have to uber to and from. As an island though Im good with it. I love the open and airy casino, although I think they could benefit from dimming the lights in the casino areas and creating a bit more ambiance. I personally like the feel of the place but I understand why people feel its like a mall or airport terminal. Artwork and lighting could really help this. People also need to remember that only about half the stuff is even open. There are a lot of walls with coming soon signs. Once everything is open it will feel much better. They will add things as they go to. Personally I think its off to a pretty great start I am just worried it isn’t going to get the business it needs to work if everyone is going to just hate on it. Sad to me because the property is quite nice, and has great potential. The food options are second to none on the strip in my opinion. I actually have a design suggestion for them, I think the entire casino ceiling should be dripping with crystals and cut glass in undulating patterns. All in blue and clear crystals but in much shorter drapes than the central bar making that still a focal point. It would cost a fortune but it would be absolutely stunning. You could create the illusion and make it feel like your inside a fountain with the ceiling having crystals hanging at just 4-6 inches from the ceiling with the longer drips like 12-24” making the entire casino ceiling a dripping crystal masterpiece which the center bar already is. Also, as I said dim the lights in the casino by half at least. I also think a problem with it is that it cost so much to build, with so many issues, they seem to be stingy with perks. That would change quickly if it were busier. Personally I love the pool deck and the rooms and views. There is literally nothing to hate about the place and people say its pretentious and expensive but Im not rich and love staying there. They have a ton of great food for cheap, you just can’t eat at the steakhouse and Komodo every night. I hear they are doing well with celebrities. Apparently, Brittnee Spears and J-Lo frequent the spa there. I hear they have great services for high rollers and celebrities. Anyway, thats my two cents on Fontainebleau 👍🏼

It's not Caesars and it's not MGM, so established players aren't going without some kind of tier-match promotion (if there is said promotion going on, then they need to promote it better). Second, $17 for a slice of pizza with a couple of topping - 'nuff said. They are still trying to live down the 6-nacho debacle from their opening; this doesn't help. Location is a problem, there's not that much close by (Circus Circus?) that would be attractive to this kind of clientele. Lastly, rooms are too expensive. Maybe not too expensive for a 5-star resort, but too expansive for a 5-star resort with all of the deficiencies, above.

Fountainbleau is really nice. I visited there six months ago. I think they’re just having new kid on the block pains. It took awhile for Resorts World to find their niche but they slowly built up their crowds. This casino will as well. They should lower their prices, (a brand new resort surrounded on all sides with stiff competition should not be charging those room rates this early in the game) and maybe allow outsiders access to the pool for a small fee to draw people in the doors to give them a test drive.

Actually it’s one of the easier hotels to get into and out of. The south end hotels are where it’s chaos and a nightmare to navigate anywhere. The casino refuses to get competitive as nd the vibe is not friendly. Rooms and food expensive. The casino only had a grand opening for celebrities and rich for a day and a half. Did nothing for locals or visitors unlike Resorts World recently where they had specials, dancers, free stuff everything. It’s locals and tourists that support casinos. So if they want to be snobs and position themselves for the rich and celebrities let those people support the place I’ll go elsewhere where feel welcome.

That is a very common feeling and we definitely get that. We gamble a bit so the comps have been decent. They seem desperate to have people stay there so we've been getting some free rooms that are harder for us to get center strip. Though we love being center too.

Because these resorts are all starting to look and feel the same. Bland and generic luxury. They are dull and lifeless to gamble at. They nickel and dime you on everything. Vegas just isn't the value that it once was for the middle class. Plus, the hotels that are on the north strip are a little more isolated and that is a turn off for some folks

Location, location, location. Add in the lack of a buffet to draw crowds in and compete with Wynn and Caesars and the place feels empty. You have to spend a fortune to eat in restaurants and $50+ for a pizza in their food court is a bit too much for the majority of the strip crowd.

I gave them a try the last time I was in Las Vegas. I probably won't be back. They don't status match with other rewards programs. It would take a lot of gambling at that one casino to get to the status that I have at MGM and Caesars. If they did match, and send me good room offers, I would stay there and therefore gamble there. I prefer to gamble where I am staying.

I think one of the major problems is the vibe and you have this huge bar in the center without the classic Vegas Sinatra music coming out of it which you really yearn for. It would be great to have some live musicians there it's so palatial that it reminds me more of like a big Resort rather than a casino. Also there is only one video poker bar and people love to play video poker or hang around the bar. I just think it needs to loosen up have some music have some party Vibe it's just a little bit too staid.

It's the pricetag that comes along with the room, i dont mind to be staying in a hotel a bit from the action but i do not want to pay a higher price than hotels smack in the action. Last time I stayed at Red Rock, a beautiful hotel with a beautiful pool, but 30 mins from the strip. I paid less than a 5 star hotel smack in the strip, I guess it was because i was a bit far from the strip. Why would I pay more for the Fontainbleau ???
@RandomRecess
@RandomRecess 7 күн бұрын
true, the prices can be a bit steep. We sometimes like to stay far from the strip when we are looking for a more relaxed trip. Well as relaxed as you can get in a city like Vegas. We do love to be center Strip but sometimes it's just too much.
