That break of purple at the end felt so good. This game shows that being a jerk can cost you the game, or higher placement. Felt so bad for Red though. He deserved that win. One crucial mistake at the end cost him the win.

I played competitive (tournament) chess for about 20 years. I LOVED that there was NO luck. If you lost it was because you screwed up, or your opponent played better (or knew a lot more than you). But I never minded losing if I didn't just screw up badly, as long as my opponent wasn't a real jerk (they rarely were). It was always a learning experience regardless, if you let it be. Though it's really different re skills for risk (re so much being the human element and getting along), I really enjoy the analytical aspect of the game through your videos. (I played as a kid, but never seriously).

After watching your videos I’ve realized how incredibly important playing around conquer cards and eliminating enemies is over bonuses. Bonuses almost always leave you to get hit, while properly setting up a kill and saving your conquer cards is way bigger of a pay off than territory bonuses.

You read orange perfectly in the early game. That break on purple when reds stack was locked was an excellent move, even tho you were playing it safe after the bot yolo'ed you. Purple breaking you mid game was a huge blunder as was him breaking red after the orange kill. Red did not have to go for the purple kill after purple broke na tho. He could have just stacked on purple and forced purple into you for second. But again, move of the game was the simple Africa break. Well played pete, man.

I was going to say that around the 20-25m mark when purple wouldn't take mideast you should have moved your stack from Italy to mid east, but then you'd be card blocking purp and they would've just broke Europe. Maybe you could have taken mideast, left your whole stack on it pointing at Africa for a while, then moved back to Italy. Kind of sign language for the Risk illiterate, like you did to establish the Europe/Afrika border. Purp and Orange had the same play style, but I don't think they were the same player.

Hey pete, do you know why you need to actively make an alliance before you can communicate? wouldnt it make more sense that in games where its allowed you have it by default and have to actively remove it? i think a lot of new players dont know what alliance means, they think it actually means that you are gonna cooperate against the other players, not that it just enables communication. Also alliance is probably the wrong word for it...

The only thing I'd say to red at the end would be , use the alliance to ask blue (you!) to attack purple, followed by yes/no If blue (You!) say yes, then he can pass turn and have you hit purple so ease red's kill so he can give you 2nd. Otherwise blue (You) gets 3rd!

Haha Pete and his Anti-Australia policy lol. The problem with Australia isn't taking it, it's hamstringing your game to take it, which a lot of people (Noobs mostly) do. If you have to burn troops to fight for it, AND you lock yourself in, thus slowing down your 'International' progress, then it's an issue. I mean come on Pete, if it was gifted to you, and you had material in 2-3 other parts of the world, you'd be silly not to take it ya? lol. I'm bias of course, cos i'm currently LIVING in Australia in RL lol. Would love to hear your views on this lol. #OZROCKS #SAYYESTOAUSTRALIA ps I wish they'd bring out a Risk map that includes New Zealand too!! lol.

I think purple slow rolled pete because thats how he killed magenta, and it made him look like a kill hungry jackass. 17 v 9 not only didnt help purple, if he really wanted to do that it didn't need to be manual dice. It was a rather clear sign that purple saw orange just playing the game, while pete was very unappealing for the way he killed magenta.

Can someone please explain to me why the Australian position is that bad. I personally are a beginner and like to take very early for an easy bonus at the start before continuing with my other positions. And once you have it it is barely contested because it is so isolated
