Pete 100% you can win your own tournament. Your participation against the largest volume of players and best competition should not be set aside because your the host. However upon winning, you shouldn’t take a prize and redistribute that to the next 3-5 players below you in either and even or placement specific dispersement.

No, don't distribute Pete's winnings to ranks 2+. That creates an incentive for finalists in losing game positions to attack Pete's opponents so Pete will win. If they think they are losing the final, they would be incentivized to attack Pete's opponents so that Pete wins and distributes money to them.

Pete I got to say I really appreciate you telling me to get off my chair and move a bit. I watch your videos from a bunker I work at. The hours are quite long sitting in this office chair, so when you motivate/remind me to stand up and stretch a bit. I feel a lot better for the rest of the day.

39:00 We watch you because you're entertaining. We watch you for interesting takes on philosophy, we watch you for Risk, but everyone has their own reason. I started playing risk after watching some youtube vids by you that I enjoyed. It aint just for the Risk content, and I'd bet a few people would watch you comment marbles on stream. It's somehow the fact that you're a good showman that makes the content worth watching, not necessarily what the content exactly is, but then again, I'm just a casual risk player, I dabble from time to time, even giving wins away to people who were nice to me. I'm not competitive in Risk and I don't really need to learn it for any reason. I just enjoy the content because it's fun.

11:35 I think playing against you is the biggest appeal of the tournament. Play but make it clear the prize money can’t go to you. However, I think that in the event that you win the finals the finalists play a 5 player game and victor gets the spoils or you split the prize money among the 5.

Pete, if you're NA, you can also help SA out a bit by having a position in Asia (ie Kamchaka and surrounding areas) and leavig lot's of 1s for their Asia exterior to take cards from right? Which preserves good neighbour behaviour.

The original form of the game had progressive cards, not fixed. Fixed cards were introduced less than forty years ago (maybe less than thirty years ago). The original French game had random (card-based) placement and progressive cards. Second edition had the manual placement/random placement option, progressive cards, and standing armies (starting with X number of troops based on the number of players). The original game NEEDED progressive cards. because there were no standing armies. You drew cards, placed one troop on each territory, and went from there. The original game was incredibly slow to play, and it doesn't anticipate ever having a stack much larger than 30 troops. (There just aren't very many troop pieces per color.)

I agree with the others, you should be competing in ever facet of your tournament. If you feel dirty about the prize just move everything down 1 peg from where ever you place. People compete in it to play with you and because it's your tournament.

Imo if you aren't going to, or feel you're unable to compete at the same level as everyone else for the same thing as everyone else then you shouldn't. Perhaps you should consider getting a few organisers together, people who are community stalwarts that have a good understanding of the game but are not at the level required to compete at the very top. In chess for example low level GMs and IMs (2nd highest title) will organise/commentate on the event while the highest rated players will compete. I get it might be challenging to get that kind of setup but its worth trying and pursuing, you are one of the best players in the world and the most popular character in the community and you not being able to play in any tournament, either at all or to a restricted capacity is a huge loss for that tournament. I think everyone would agree that we'd rather see KP compete in KPO rather than organise it, but its probably one of those have your cake or eat it scenarios unfortunately. That all being said, regardless of whether you organise/commentate, compete or the awkward balance of both, I will be watching and supporting all the same

I think the key difference here between something like Chess and Risk is FFA contains a reputational element and due to the massive success of the show (definitely not something I'm complaining about) I will never be on a level playing field. I could compete as an alt but I feel like that contains with it a whole different set of problems for fairness so I'm fine to play my best, take my wins and losses as they come and be happy that so many enjoy my work!

@@TheKillPeteStrategyWhat if you get 6 accounts, loaded with all the map packs courtesy of smg that you could give the details out to players, anonymous accounts so that nobody knows who is who, except for stylistic clues etc. Might be complicated in terms of the stream as you'd likely have to say who is who but I guess there always has to be an element of trust, as two players could message each other to see who is who etc but they could message each other to collaborate now anyway. Its a complicated one for sure but we are all very grateful for your efforts, all the best Pete 👍

People doing massive push content like Diablo 2 do actually sleep on stream. And sometimes the viewership matches the awake shit. It's nuts. Edit: it's not so much to let people watch you sleep but to keep stream truly running for 48 hours even when most people can't stay awake that long. It's still a 48 hour stream if you sleep.

Not exactly sure why Magenta decided to hit you and blue equally. Especially when it was green who eliminated their Asia position, and then broke their North America. I guess it's a good indicator of how MAD works. "I am losing, so I will drag the world down with me! Allies included!"
