Excellent! I learn this: If you want to be the best as a wife, as a minister, as a mother, or else .. its oke if you make mistakes, and always learning to be better, not compare ourself to others but to ourself in the past, not listen to the accuser. Blessing to us all. Thanks Lisa.

This is excellent information but ‘going to the right people’ is a bit tricky in this day and age because there are people who love nothing more than to undercut your efforts. I’m working on my trust issues due to my upbringing. I’m harshest on myself but I’m improving.
@carlyfleming18558 ай бұрын
Prayers for your decernment! I also struggle with this from my family upbringing. Before being a Christian I would explain my feeling towards my parents opinion and advice as "Bible", meaning the end all be all. Kept me in absolute turmoil for nearly 30 years of my life. I'm finding that being part of an in person Bible study and building relationships with Godly women is the key to this. 🗝️

Great answers! I can say that Gen X is one of the strongest generations because we didn’t have instant access to the internet to give us those answers. We had to figure out life with a lot of mistakes and we learned from them. This is the wisdom that is coming from us Gen X- pouring out to the Millenials and Gen Z - our pain and answers came with trial and error. Not a Google question and instant answer. There’s a lot to be said with what we had to learn. Thank you Lisa! This encouraged me greatly!

Especially the part of the "talking to friends" about your marriage problems. Don´t do it. First you do not you, if some of these "friends" will go and talk to others and spread the bad news (the more something is spoken about, the more it becomes a manfiested reality! )and second they can use it against you (and some of them will). There are not many people I will ever call a friend. I only had 2 in my life so far. Be careful about this and rather seek counsel from a professional.

Correction.. Identity is and must be different from Role. They can not be merged into one. This is how God taught me: First and foremost is your identity as God's daughter. It is unchanging & eternal. It's who you are. Your roles God has assigned to you are what you do. They are not eternal & sometimes they do change beyond your control. What about the mother whose only adult child has died? Who is she now if her role is merged into identity? Or the wife whose husband has died or decided he wants out of the marriage. Roles must be separate from identity and come under the umbrella of identity as Daughter of God. ❤

As a single woman in my 40s I regret spending my 20s and 30s at church thinking I would meet my husband while serving God putting my life and future in hold. People specially women!! read your bibles and don’t fall for a culture that wants to keep you slaved to a ministry. Marry! Have children and enjoy life and the love of Jesus

I don't understand this comment. God rewards and takes care of those that serve him. Why would you regret serving in Church?
@eng.reagan95407 ай бұрын
How do you serve God while you still have the "I" mindset? There is no "I" mindset when you trust and believe in God. The "I" mindset is based on the fleshly things. However, if you trust and believe in God, HE will be in charge and the "I" effect will cease to exist. The church is your body, not the building. If you want to serve the church, forget the building but serve both old and young, rich and poor, weak and strong and most importantly, serve even those that don't look like you or share your beliefs. NB: You don't need to go to poor countries to serve God. Those pictures usually attack your faith and take advantage of your emotion. The person next to you needs your assistance more than the person far away from you.

Lisa I love this topic! I would love it if you would consider doing a video on biblical submission to a husband. My husband is always saying how I need to submit to him. I didnt get married until I was 33. I was very independent. I know that I am married but my husband doesnt like me doing things on my own. He wants me to run everything by him. An example, I took some money out of my paycheck that I earned as a bonus and set some aside. I didn't tell him about it, he called me slimy, sneaky, and basically a liar. He now wants me to give him my paycheck and he doesn't want me making any deposits to the bank now because he doesn't trust me now he said. I told him this was a form of control. I told him I would do it but I disagree with his decision. He told me that is not true submission. Ireally need help in this matter because I want to be a submissive wife but not sure if he is handling me properly or if I am just not getting it. Also a video from John on how a husband loves his wife as Christ loves the church would also be very helpful. I need some biblical advice in these subjects and I'm sure many other couples need it too.

The Proverbs 31 woman managed her own money. What she did over and above caring for her family was hers to invest wisely. This was the common practice and also became a law in England centuries ago. Your husband is trying to be a leader which is good but is unwisely micromanaging.
@kelseynicole96618 ай бұрын
That doesn’t sound like he’s selflessly serving you and expecting you to submit. That sounds like he’s being borderline controlling. Ultimately, it says husband and wives submit to eachother. It is a partnership and he is responsible for being the spiritual leader and the wife should respect that and support him in that but marriage is a partnership and he sounds like he’s using his position of authority to be domineering. Also, if you believe that his leadership is going against Christ, you don’t have to submit to him. Ultimately, you serve and submit to Christ first
@GraceAdonai8 ай бұрын

Transparency is one key word in marriage, this issues should have being discussed before marriage, if you it by the way without discussing, it’s also not an issue,I sense a bit off control here, from the very beginning a woman was not wired to even work by God, we are in times we’re women work, if your husband understands who he is in Christ and his role properly he should not be asking what you do with your money rather be proud of the fact you choose to work, also bear in mind the Bibi leadership speaks of submission to the man who is your husband, so in other areas a woman should submit and a man should love his wife period.

What is a Godly wife? Maybe the description of Godly may vary from man to man. I dated a girl that was always preaching to me and trying to fix me. Is she Godly? Do you know how many divorced "godly wives" I know? Many. I really don't see much difference between the women I know in church and the ones that are not in church. I am actually much more respected by women that are not from my church. My professional friends are much more respectful to me. To be Godly is a very vague description. Women are women, they have struggles, difficulties, and are not perfect. So are men.
@i-primeproductions15178 ай бұрын
It amazes me that women ask women what it takes to be a good wife, and they never ask men. Women are always telling men what it takes to be a good husband, and then they are also telling women what it takes to be a good wife. The number one problem I see in marriages and relationships in general is feminism vs femininity. Every man has an emotional need, and a FUNCTIONAL need for a woman that is soft, feminine and submissive. Women have no problem whatsoever being respectful and submissive to every single boss they’ve ever worked for no matter what their personality type, no matter how abrasive, irritable or irritating or stressful. Those people or situations are yet they want to mouth off, be disagreeable, argumentative, and opinionated with their husbands. They do not acknowledge his God-given authority. That is the number one issue in marriage, you CANNOT love your husband and disrespect him. A husband’s role is to provide for and protect. Women are 100% expect that rule to be met fully. Yet they cannot seem to bring to the table. What is it requirement of a wife. Imagine a marriage that never has any arguments, but only the occasional respectful disagreement with the ultimate responsibility falling on the one who has the authority with that responsibility. There would be peace and power and longevity.

Really irrelevant. It’s irrelevant that not all women are like you describe. So, in other words we are just supposed to take what you say as the ultimate truth.
