The GMT400 is one of GM's best platforms. The 5.7L V8 was a strong proven motor and had great power for what it was. If you took care of it, the motor would run forever and the truck itself (body/interior) would hold up nicely. A few things I saw: The hazard switch is broken. The light under the hood is on I got my 98 with 186K in 2011 for about 3000. That should sell for about the same, maybe a little more since it is a one ton. Nice catch on that truck!

I love it! Can't beat an old Chevy truck. With 177k miles it's barely broke in. My 2002 Silverado has 324k miles. Purrs like a kitten, smooth and strong. Rides like a limousine. Everything still works. I'd drive it across country without hesitation. You'll be able to get $3500 for it easy, Maybe more.

I have to say Randy. The comment about a Chevy truck “this old” running so well was a surprise to me. I owned an 89, 2 94’s and a 95’ Tahoe. And they all ran like tops. Just kept trading up until I had an SUV and a 4x4. They run for 375k+ miles if taken care of. I’ve seen multiple that high. My dad STILL has his 96’ gmc extra cab long bed and it’s almost to 300k. The old Chevy engines are very reliable. I also had to say that at 12:17 you took that red light like a champ! 😂 Oklahoma and Florida drivers are similar

I'd change the rims, do a paint job and replace the radio and send it on it's way. I've never been a fan of that style of GM rims. A good set of rims and paint job would completely transform the look of that truck.

In my market, Houston, it would sell for $3500 as is. The straight body( the paint isn’t an issue for a truck that age) and ESPECIALLY cold ac and great interior would have it gone in less than 24 hours. Major score!
@rhiantaylor34464 жыл бұрын
Randy, if you regularly drive cars that might have failed batteries you could always make up a lead so you can plug your jump pack into the cigar lighter socket. Won't start the car but will give you 10 amps - enough to keep fuel injection etc. running.

Randy,rule of thumb a slight hill causes fuel to slide rearwards ergo the truck trying to die, battery going bad,as long as you leave it running the alternator will recharge the battery with a trickle charge... dont be afraid to "Take it to the Limit, one more time" to qoute the Eagles... LOL.. in 1997 they had driver and passenger airbags, 1995 and 96 the dash is indentical,the 3rd door was a option @ $750....
