I Won't Go Back - New Cardo Packtalk Pro Headset

I'm not sure how it happened, but I managed to make my way into the Cardo Packtalk Pro press release. I was also able to get my hands on the brand new Cardo Packtalk Pro and try it out for myself to see what the hype is all about. Up until this point, I was using the Sena Headset for my communication needs. It didn't take much for me to become a Cardo fan given the ultra high quality of the Cardo JBL Speakers. That alone had me sold. However, the Packtalk Pro also offers a few other cool features that are the cherry on top. Check my vid for the full review!

There you were !!👍 First off Jon , Do Not Sell Yourself Short bro , the picked you and flew you out to Cali because IMO , you’re the Best Moto journalist for what they wanted !!! cardo also sells a cradle for the actual device that is much cheaper to add to a second helmet so all you have to do is move the unit and not all the wiring. saves lots of money and you still can use it in two different helmets.

I have two pairs of 40mm speakers and two pairs of 45mm speakers for my cardo neo. I can PROMISE you, the upgrade from 40mm to 45mm is NEGLIGIBLE at best. If I had to put a number on it, I would say the bigger speakers are 3-5% better. The audio quality is SLIGHTLY and I mean ever so slightly, better in a standstill quiet room however once you get on the road, the 40mm speakers actually get LOUDER than the 45mm. Go online and read some reviews you will see quickly the $90 for the 45mm speakers vs the 40mm HD speakers is NOT worth it in my opinion.

The Cardo is definitely the best of the bunch. I tried Lexin and Sena and neither come close imo. I will definitely be upgrading to the newest model when I get my next helmet.

I’ve been debating about getting this with my new Shoeii RF-1400 helmet. I’ve never had a Cardo. The cardo edge is on sale at Amazon for $300. Do you think the Pro is worth the $$ upgrade to that?

@SoCalScents i havent personally compared the 45mm to 40mm speakers, so cant speak to that (based on what ive heard from others, the 40mm quality is still top notch). The other selling points depend on whether or not you care for auto on/off and crash detection. I'd probably get the edge unless money isn't an issue.

Just bought a RF1400 and the next day bought/had the Pro installed. I think they go well with each other. Considering the helmet has been the best for noise cancellation and the 45mm speakers the audio has been great. Put it more on the side tho.

I know this is off topic, but im looking at getting a different bike im torn between the Honda Valkyrie and the Yamaha VMAX. Which one do you which would be funnier/ better to daily to work. 20 miles half highway and othe half interstate. Or paved back roads. Thanks

The valkyrie is one of my all-time favorites for overall power, handling, and comfort. And I'll add the goldwing f6b is right there as well. The vmax is insane but doesn't come close (at least the first gen) to the handling and comfort side.

My only frustration with Cardo is that music sharing is only available via a Bluetooth connection not DMC 🥴
