Thank you to all who have made this what it is. I swear, when we all get older, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of great minds come from this game. It helped give many kids a passion to do things and be creative at a young age. It’s insane. Thank you Ant, Cavemanfilms, Skitscape, Sethbling, Etho, CaptainSparkles, The Yogscast, and everyone else (not to mention the devs and even KZbin) for the wonderful times you’ve given to two generations and the inspiration to create a new Minecraft generation. I hope people don’t forget these things, it was important not just to Minecraft but the entire KZbin / Internet, you all made it possible to entertain and made platforms on the internet viable for many people, it’s utterly unbelievable.

For a long time I went so hard on minecraft hunger games with a buddy of mine. We would duo basically all our games which some servers had issues with, I think mostly due to us dominating even though other duos wouldn’t get in trouble. We implemented some crazy strats for when we were under geared, using a pincher maneuver along with fishing rods to win fights. Would get dudes to chase us up a huge tree or something with a trap waiting them to get to the top, we had escape plans for everything. Was such a fun time

God, has it really already been 10 years? I remember watching this when it happened. I remember trying to find servers running the game mode for like 2 weeks afterwords until someone set one up that I saw. Those early survival games maps, especially the first 2 (that second one is ingrained in my mind. I still remember how to climb the fallen sky scraper.) Are so damn memorable, and well designed. It's seriously crazy to think how quickly time flies. It's also crazy to think of all the people who competed back then. Other than you and CaptainSparklez, I don't think any of them even play minecraft anymore. It's so crazy to think back to all of it.

I remember many years ago watching all you’re live commentaries and play throughs. THEN… you win the first hunger games 1 and 2 and the genre blew up with you at the centre. That was epic and I remember watching it back then like it was yesterday. I will always be a huge fan Ant, and from the time that I can think back to the start of minecraft you’ve always been my biggest idol, as you taught me everything I know about the game. Even now if I find a gapple in a chest I rave about it. I remember this one year I GOT 2 ANTVENOM SHIRTS FOR CHRISTMAS, man I was so hyped. I must have worn those 2 buggers for like a months STRAIGHT! I got good at parkour by watching your T3C parkour, and pvp from hunger games. And I gotta say it was pretty nice to see old Ant rattling off his thoughts again about what was goin on in those first survival games. Sheesh so many amazing things like man I remember when u broke out the Antfarm. Then the Extreme Antfarm brooo. When I think back to how much you impacted me and my friends, aswell as so many other in the Minecraft community, all I can say is that the work you’ve done is incredible. Some of my earliest memories are of u and this game. This was 10 years ago, and I’m 20 now, so I can actually say that I’ve watched you’re videos for over half of my life. You’re my favourite minecraft you tuber and you’ve cemented yourself as a minecraft legend among many of the greats. I found you’re videos through X’s as they always popped up in recommended right next to each other so I guess that says a lot eh? Anyways that’s about all I got to say for now so I hope to see u in the next comment. 👍🏻

Your SG 1+2 videos are probably my favorite live commentary Minecraft videos on the entire platform. Both of them felt like movies that I honestly liked more the official Hunger Games movies. The "survival instinct" felt so much more represented and your use of music really brought it home. It was really cool to hear out your frame of mind at the time and how it affected your career. Also, small fun fact, along with Minecraft SG, I believe another game also inspired the Battle Royale genre, well, more of a mod of a game. Arma 3 had a huge mod called the DayZ mod, and over time, different variations would be made to this mod, including one where you mostly went around, gathered items, and engaged in PvP. You can really see this inspiration in H1Z1 and PUBG. There's a really good video essay series by SovietWomble that goes into a really interesting detail about this history.

I would just like to say that you basically formed my childhood and I remember watching your channel on basically a daily basis and remember you winning the first survival games... I want to say thank you for the videos and giving me entertainment for years as I remember, I remember your mod reviews, the music video "the Miner" watching you ever since I believe I was 7 just when you began to make Minecraft videos you brought me so much joy so thank you.

Man, I love you Ant, I can’t believe it was ten years ago, I’m glad I was there to witness it even though I wasn’t old enough to understand it. All of you who curated Minecraft into a full long lasting game have my respect. Many have fallen due to dumb decisions or just leaving the community because they got bored. I wasn’t here from the very beginning but I do know when I was here for the early stages even before xbox live had the console edition, the people (like Skitscape, Cavemanfilms, CaptainSparkles, The Yogscast, Sethbling, ChimneySwift, and much much more) all had a part in giving a literal sandbox game an entire platform. Although it wasn’t much, you all have impacted every single one of the new and old players to start and continue playing a game that would’ve faded into existence many moons ago. Both the technical side and community have come a long way, I just hope we all remember where it all started. It was with a bunch of teens and young adults who tried a game one day and decided to post it to KZbin. Can’t say this enough, thank you! to all of them! Especially the ones who we might not agree with now, we can appreciate what they created and how they changed so many lives with just a few videos and helped a small platform like KZbin to grow essentially. Whether for good or bad, these KZbinrs and the new KZbinrs will always be within our hearts and will live on for at least another couple generations.

Watching that footage again really shows how far most people have come in this game as far as their PvP abilities go.

Amazing to get this vid! Ive been watching since I found your hunt for the golden apple series on Machinma and I still remember how excited I was that you won this event (though I think you’re win in the second game was the hypest cause of the 3v1). Really awesome to get more insight about everything all these years later

This was so cool. That first survival games event literally changed my life. For so many reasons I can't fit into a comment, but it's really interesting hearing about the event & behind the scenes of the community & your channel now being 23 when I was 13 originally. Holy cow the Minecraft community feels SO different now. Thanks for making this & making great content over the years from then to now. Looking forward to what's next! 😊😁

As far as u vs captain sparkles, I think the biggest thing that contributed to u winning was the arrow shot at the start. If u hadn’t hit it then the fight could’ve gone either way imo

Man, this was a crazy throwback video. I remember watching your videos prior to SG1 and when looking back I think you actually were my first minecraft youtuber (I think it was the single player command videos cuz I was having trouble with that mod when I was 10 lol) and just stuck around. I even learned of Seananners and Captainsparklez because of how much you talked about their popularity during SG1. I've enjoyed watching your growth on the platform and seeing footage of ant farm survival hit me with so much nostalgia. Especially when u brought up NoxCrew Gameshow (totally gonna binge them now!) and those hypixel/disco redstone boss fights feel like a much different era of my life. I love your new content just as much as the old, and I hope you never lose the passion to create videos!

Hearing these instances where certain events become a decade old, or in some cases even two decades old, during these times just still feels so surreal to me and reminds me of how much I've experienced. I remember Hunger Games 1 being the first real Minecraft content I ever watched on CaptainSparklez's channel, which eventually brought me here, and now it feels surreal that was 10 years ago.

I was there when this happened! It was so exciting. I think the first time I watched was from Syn's perspective. Also, the dead tributes spamming you guys with Mobs to direct you is actually faithful to the actual Hunger Games novels. Towards the end The Capitol released Muts in the area to lead the remaining tributes towards each other. And there was a boarder, it was made of glass. You guys were in an actual arena. This version of Minecraft Hunger Games is exactly like the real... "Real" Hunger Games.

Thanks AntVenom for making me feel old and also bringing some nostalgia! I love this game's veteran community, and I love how it's been shaped over time and what it's become today. It's people like you that are a huge reason for that. Thank you, man.

Wow. I was only 10 years old and I still remember this. And to think I only found your channel again in 2015... still feels too late. Still love your content and for that reason honestly every video I see from you brings me that nostalgia of being a carefree kid in awe of the possibilities of MC. It's really just insane how much 10 years is. We love you man, and it's so great to see you with that fierce confidence and drive again! I'll keep on supporting you til the end of time.

You will always be my favorite KZbinr of all time! I loved the old content of minigames and survival games when I was younger (around 2013). But now that I am older (22) I really like to listen to cool facts or watching you investigate cool happenings in Minecraft. It really has been quite a journey and I look forward to seeing the next video!

The very first video of yours that I watched was the TNT Olympics. It was also the day when I started watching Minecraft KZbin videos. I don’t know who I would be watching today. That 4 people cross over showed me you captain sparkles and Etho. Honestly if that video didn’t exist I’m not sure if I would still play to this day. Thank you.

I would LOVE to hear your story about Machinima. I grew up watching KZbin gaming content starting back in 2010 and was a major fan of a bunch of Machinimas creators, including you. It would be fascinating.

Remember watching that OG hunger games crazy thinking back to how all of that led to the rise and fall of so many servers and YTrs that we all have so much of our time to, even if most have moved on and hunger games isn’t really around anymore like it was from 2014-18 it was the memories and friendships made that are still with us :)

I miss old school survival hunger games. I once built a piston trap that opened the floor into a lava pool. I found a cavern, lured the other last guy into it, ran down a manmade tunnel, hit my switch, and the dirt floor was pushed out of the way.

God this is nostalgic. Brings me memories of “good ol days” of KZbin. My interest in Minecraft really came from this time. I was 14 when this happened and I remember watching it to this day. The commentary gameplay channels, YogsCast, and so many more. Playing adventure maps, showcasing mods. Vex’s Super hostile maps and some of the early game breaking videos. Times really have changed haven’t they?
