I'm glad she realized that there is nothing wrong with her natural hair. Her natural hair is beautiful, and she doesn't need to perm her hair or have extensions in order to be beautiful. I wish my mom taught me to love my natural hair when I was growing up. I'm glad I rock it now.
@topicsgirl76347 жыл бұрын
Perming hair or having extensions doesn't mean you think your hair isn't beautiful. She technically has extensions when she wears the braids so I don't see your point.
@Pinkiiy7 жыл бұрын
Topicsgirl7 I was gonna reply the same thing. I went natural for over five years loved it. Got married and moved away from my family on military base where there was no one to help with my hair and I relaxed it. I feel that I'm beautiful both ways. I'm not my hair and it doesn't define me. I've done over six big chop it grows back and once I realize that... I learned how to feel beautiful with or with out it.

It's all over the place and WHITE PPL ( sorry to shade y'all 😂) always AlWaYS ALWAYS want to touch my hair and sometimes even without my permission. i know! if she got it shaped and trimmed just a bit, then moisturized the ends to keep things from getting nappy as Neisha stated, she would seriously glow. once you've got a routine down, it's super simple to keep up. purple extensions popping here and there might help with comfort levels if she needs them.

I wear my hair natural and I think my curls look nice, however, I still would prefer straight hair. It's a lot less to manage it and not time consuming- I wake up, brush my hair and done. Also I don't have to worry about spending like $30 just for two bottles of conditioner specially made for curly hair, and my hair goes passed my butt when straightened, so I go through hair products fast. Not to mention the costs of other products used to maintain curly hair. I also wouldn't have to worry about my hair becoming flat every time I lay my head against something when I'm tired or in bed, or having my curls lose their shape if I want to get my hair out of my face and wear a ponytail (sucks when it's spring/summer because I HATE the heat). Curly hair looks nice but for me, it's very frustrating to have. I don't straigten my hair because I don't want to damage it. I don't like doing anything different with my hair because then I have to spend time getting my curls back the next morning. I already spend 15-20min touching it up after waking up and I'm not going to wash/soak my hair everyday to get my curls back, I've done that before. The only good thing to come from it is healthy hair and compliments lol (my hair is 2 textures, 3b and 3c)

My hair's mostly wavy but I still can't brush it. I know so many girls with my hair type who can brush it every morning and it looks fine, but mine triples in size despite having the same texture? I have to detangle with a wide tooth comb when it's wet and conditioned and all that, and my hair tangles so incredibly easy it'd be so much simpler to just be able to put a hairbrush through it whenever it's tangled but no I have to wait until I have time to spend an hour detangling. I completely agree with you. I love my hair type, but good lord having straight hair would be so easy and prettier as I can't make my hair silky and shiny for the life of me :/

you can't know if she feels freedom in her natural hair or not maybe she just prefers it braided and that's it as somebody else said in the comments a lot of girls with even wavy hair straighten it, or people who color it and nobody judges them, everyone's free to do what they're comfortable with
@andiman446 жыл бұрын
DeMauri Nycole That’s not true she said its beautiful but it’s high maintenance especially when it’s thick. I’m like her i’d rather have braids and just get up ready to go.

I like what she said at the end. You can do whatever style you feel comfortable with! People can tell you what they think looks better on you but at the end of the day it doesn't matter, if it makes you happier and more comfortable then go with that style.

This is honestly such a great video and I understand her completely being that I go from weaves to braids with no break in between. I feel so anxious and kind of scared to have my hair out around those I know.
@tybooskie6 жыл бұрын
It's harder for some than others. For me, I never really did my hair, so going natural was like having my hair done all the time, which is the opposite for many women. I also never liked my hair until I went natural.I used to straighten my hair daily just to put it up. I hated getting my hair done. Going natural made doing my hair so much easier because all I have to do is wash it and it's done. An afro is a perfectly fine hair do.

Natural hair is so beautiful! It's so bouncy and lively and adorable and ugh it's just wonderful! It looks so much cuter in buns and with hair clips and just the floof is amazing and soft and must be fun to play with! I sometimes (well, always) wish my hair was at least a bit more curly so I looked more bold and lively I just think curly and natural hair have that lovely vibe. Girls with natural hair should own it more often and show it off. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS BEAUTIFUL

I'm black but it's sad when black women give up on their real hair, how is it that we claim to be such strong women that can handle and do anything yet we can't learn how to do our real hair or are too lazy to do our real hair? I also can't stand when yall say "it's just hair, it's not that serious". Then why spends tons of money on it, spends hours upon hours on it, have huge arguments and fights over it, get too scared to let anyone see you when you take your weaves/braids out etc.... It's annoying when they say it's just hair when they know how important it is to them. I also don't like when they say "natural hair is not for me". How is the hair that grows out of your head not right for you? Why do we preach about loving and embracing ourselves, being comfortable in our skin etc and yet your natural hair isn't good enough/pretty so you hide it. Often times these "natural hair is not for me" girls are the same people that trash talk celebrities, instagram and youtube women about being too fake/not real and how they are teaching young girls to not love themselves. (Obviously I'm not talking about people who have medical conditions or girls who just wear weaves every now and then. I'm ONLY talking about women who never ever wear their natural hair, always hide it and "natural hair is not for me" girls.)
@ashberry03277 жыл бұрын
purple rose But have you thought some people actually love their hair dyed funky, and fun colors? If she feels comfortable in her braids(I loved them to be honest) Then she feels comfortable in them and it's nice. She can do whatever she wants and you're not my mom.
@MrsLevitanBoss7 жыл бұрын
I don't think she gave up on her real hair. Her hair texture is very dry, as you can see through the video, and I don't think she has the time to take care of her natural hair or she doesn't want to learn. Besides, braids are a protective style anyways.

Shameon Onyou you're a fool if you truly think your 3b hair grade is less maintenence than 4c. I have 3c and my little brother has 4c and it is 10x more difficult to detangle and retain moisture

@cinnawhat87977 жыл бұрын
Feonalilly does your little brother actually have long hair though ? I have 4c hair and my hair doesn't hold moisture and it shrinks so bad. Curly hair is difficult imo regardless of texture. My hair is easier than my mom who has a looser texture than mine cause my hair is thin and hers is thick. Thin hair is easier sometimes cause it doesn't take as long to detangle , but thick and coarse hair I feel will be more difficult than thicker looser hair.
@smiless09997 жыл бұрын
Cinnamon Tea agreed. That's definitely why I prefer to wear braids. 4c hair is a lot of maintenance and it's legitimately easier to get up and go with braids. "Wash and Go" is not made for someone with my hair

This makes me so happy to watch. It also made me want to cry because I have a cousin who hates her natural hair. Her parents and I have always tried to help her feel more comfortable with her hair, but it's hard growing up in a predominantly white and Asian family. I learned to help my younger cousin with their hair and tried to learn how to style it for them because at the time her parents were clueless and giving her a white girl hair style. She hated it and was bullied for it, so I did a couple video searches and practiced until we both found a style she loved. Later her parents had her take it out to get a right well wash (again they were both very inexperienced they're better now) it and has her wear her natural hair for a while. Eventually she got it done but she hates her natural hair now. I've been trying to say her natural hair is beautiful. I just sent this to her.

I have never relaxed my hair. I have had it pressed and have noticed it looks very thin. And not full anymore. This makes me happy because I kinda feel pressured at times to go natural. And Truthfully. I just feel it wasn't for me I tried it and didn't like it on me. Plus Im too lazy for the up keep. I like Straight hair I think it looks good on me and that's what I'm comfortable with. I am however going to to stop pressing my hair for a while. Been just getting blow outs and wearing a ponytail / gonna start getting sewins. So I like this good job buzzfeed it's nice to know that others kinda feel the same way. You should wear hair however you want. It's your head do as you wish and be happy.
