I was wondering who Sharla was in the credits. I, too, worked on Shin Godzilla (more on the production side) so it's so awesome to hear your experience on the set, which was very different from mine.

Shin Godzilla has been my, hands down, most favorite movie in years. I managed to catch it in theaters twice and had it preordered the day it came up available in the US. It's absolutely everything I had been waiting for in a modern-era Godzilla movie. I can only hope Toho decides to follow with another movie. Kaiju movies have been in my life since the beginning. It's such a joy to see more (unexpected!) tibits about it pop up! ngl though, I'm absolutely jealous that there were so many extras available in Japan for the home release.

Those scripts look awesome. Something I leaned in college while getting my major in media studies is that 1 page of script = 1 minute of screen time. So 60 pages would be a 60 minute movie. I always found that really interesting.

Use 3m strips to hang things on your wall! I use them and they keep your pictures hanging straight unlike hanging from a nail. They have ones that are like Velcro and they are great. When you want to move something you just pull and release the strip from the wall.

Sharla, I have a really yummy vegan recipe to recommend you. Curry cauliflower and potato pot: 2tbs oil, 1 big chopped onion, 3 chopped garliccloves, 4cm grated ginger, 1.5ts turmeric powder, 2tbs curry powder, 2 cardamom capsules (take out the seeds), 3cm cinnamon stick (take out before eating), 1ts pepper, 1/2ts salt, 5tbs water, 1/2dl coconutmilk, 1 can of chopped tomatoes with chili, 1/2ts sugar, 1 cauliflower chopped, 2 potatoes chopped in dices, 1 large green chili (cut it in half and take out before eating), 1-2tbs lemonjuice.
@MarieLyster7 жыл бұрын
Warm oil in a pot and cook the onion till it's soft, then add the ginger, turmeric, garlic, cumin, cardamom seeds, cinnamon, pepper, salt, currypowder, green chili and water. Cook for about 3 mins. Then add the tomatoes and sugar befor you add the cauliflower and potatoes, and cook for about 30 mins. (Until the cauliflower and potatoes becomes soft). Take the chili out and add lemonjuice. You can sprinkle with some coriander and serve with rice, nanbread, natural yoghurt or what you may like yourself.

So cool that you worked on that! I watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters recently which was my first time watching a Godzilla movie. I told this to a guy who rang me up at Kinokuniya in L.A. last week (cause they had a lot of Godzilla stuff there) and he said "Shin Godzilla" was good. I'll have to find a way to watch it now! They used to have a bunch of old Godzilla movies on US Netflix, but they're gone now. :( Have you seen King of the Monsters yet? Mothra actually plays a pretty big role in it. (Well, actually it's a Mothra larvae, so Mothra's kid I guess?)

When you said Hideaki Anno I was like "Whaat?!". Especially after watching your "Photos of My First Time in Japan" video when you said you sang "Cruel Angel's Thesis" the first time you did karaoke in Japan. (That song is awesome btw). That's so cool you got to meet him. I saw him in a documentary about Studio Ghibli (he played some role in "The Wind Rises") and he seemed pretty nice. I still have not seen all of Evangelion - only like half of the original version (not Rebuild or whatever the most recent Evangelion release is called, but the original NGE from the '90's). I should finish watching it one of these days. They had some of the old Japanese Godzilla movies on Netflix in the U.S. for a while, but they disappeared before I was able to watch them. 😢 I saw a clip from the very first Godzilla movie (from like 1954) in a documentary about sci-fi, so I think that's what got me into it. They also were going to do a special showing of the first Mothra movie at a movie theater near me once, but I didn't go to it.
