Have to agree with Diddy on this one. Roy Jones Jr was a beast. Was like Beterbiev and Bivol rolled into one. Had everything in his arsenal, power, speed, reflexes the lot. Schooled James Toney on his first fight at SMW, would’ve stayed undefeated if he didn’t go upto Heavyweight and then tried to drop back down to Light Heavyweight to defend his title.

If you were a Roy Jones Jr fan you’d know he came down from Heavyweight to Light Heavyweight to finally get beat by Tarver. That’s 20lbs of weight he gained then lost. Tarver who was a very good fighter in his own right only beat Roy due to the effect the weight gain and loss had on him.

Prime Roy Jones Jr was pretty much unbeatable. His best weight was Super middleweight, I think moving up to light heavyweight even though it was only a few pounds it meant his punches weren't as explosive but he still would have just run rings around Bivol and Beterbiev - I don't think he would have stopped Bivol but he was just far to fast and skilled. the harder fight would have been Bivol because Bivol has a better boxing brain the Beterbiev, but Jones would have won a wide points victory. Beterbiev has been knowcked down a few times so he's easier to hit and I think jones could have stopped Beterbiev late in the fight. But, yeah if you know boxing you'd have to put prime RJJ ahead of everyone at 168/ 175.

A big RJJ fan here but he was overrated once you compare him to eastern block fighters. RJJ wasn’t fundamentally sound. His elusiveness and flexibilities eventually faded when he got older and got smashed by tarver and Johnson. He would never knockout beterbiev. Beterbiev more fundamentally sound. Also stop talking about Canelo being a big win for bivol. He’s too small for light heavy weight. Just because he knocked out a wash up Kovalev doesn’t mean he was something. This sort of commentary is what let’s talksport down. Too much hyperbole. According to talksport every fighter they watch is the greatest ever. It shows how little talksport presenters know about the sport. These two guys are not even in the top million. These are the most basic fighters I have seen in boxing. You are not beating Roy Jones without any special effects. You are not beating Archie Moore, Tarver, even Hopkins or sugar ray who went up to light heavy. Also, this fight is not 50 50. Berta stops Bivol within 5. There is nothing special about either fighter. Berta is juiced and will win because of that. An unjuiced Berta would make it more even. It’s crazy how these presenters are so lacking in knowledge of the sport they commentate on. Even Calzaghe would have beaten either fighter. There is absolutely nothing special about them.
