Saying "bread" in Danish is quite easy, you've probably done it before right after eating 5-days-old moldy pizza. It was quite a fun language tu run nevertheless. I managed to put in a handful of Disney references, but failed to use the Danish-based "The Little Mermaid". Shame. Anyway, I'm all out of videos to edit (finally!) so the next stream is imminent. The "d" at the end of words such as "brød" are "soft d's" pronounced more or less like "th" in English

It is, but there's also a short glottal stop before the eth. This is called "stød" and it's all over the place in Danish and it's phonemic, i.e. a lot of words are differentiated only by the presence of absense of stød. E.g. "brud" without stød means "fracture" and "brud" with stød means bride.

Danish is a Nordic language, with loads of influences from German and Dutch. So I is a Germanic Nordic language, that is why it sounds so weird.

you are right that it was heavily influenced by those two languages based on geography. one correction, though...all of the major nordic languages (danish, swedish, norwegian, icelandic, even faroese) are germanic, too. finnish is the outlier in the nordic countries, as it's uralic. but your point still stands.

As a Danish speaker, i agree that the d sounds is horribly and 90% of the words don't even have a fucking sound. Danish is a garbage language period. rød grød med fløde mine venner :3
