Great interview!!! 🎉❤ I started keto in early 2023 having found Dr. Eric Berg in the middle of the night in desperation as I was heading for Diabetes. My life is transformed, as is the life of my husband and children!!! I now listen to all doctors and PhD experts across the board and also in opposition and have found a fabulous middle ground for prevention of illness as I get older, I have also reversed all joint pain in 6 months so amazing!! 😻 thank you so much to all of you working in tandem to allow us, the public, to engage in incredible metabolic systems to prevent preventable illness!! (Even my teenage boys were completely saved from the insulin resistance swamp!) 😅🎉❤❤

What's a shame is that the content regarding FMD was completely missing! There was no discussion at all about how to carry out the FMD, what protocol it follows. That's what the audience is most interested in!!

Prolon fasting mimicking diet. It’s exclusively done by this company. It’s a boxed 5 day plan. It’s seriously beneficial for a type2 diabetic. My spouse is almost non-diabetic , maybe another few months. He isn’t on any meds or insulin but extremely low carb currently. All carbs from veggies.

FMD is great. I was having the start of dupuytrens contracture (fingers would lock close and I’d have to use my other hand to unlock the fingers on my right hand. There was even a pain along the finger), and a cyst on my elbow and the conditions cleared up during the 5 days. I do the FMD a few times a year. I am also losing weight consistently. Longo does look weary but I also think he is a workhorse workaholic which has its own stressors. His speaking let’s be nice and understanding - English is not his birth language. So being at a loss for words sometimes is absolutely understandable. The diet is wonderful and revolutionary. Worth it to invest in it once a month to clear up the seen and unseen things in our bodies. Then twice a year as maintenance.

My first language is Arabic, my English is great in medicine my profession but in life some times lose the English word but my friends laugh when explaining myself with signs like shoelace to tie in a walk so I point to my shoes and said I have to tie the thing but shoelace in my you tube channel about telomeres I remembered well . Also splash said cars made water meant splash It is difficult to be perfect.

In regards to white blood cell drop in fasting and increase after when refeeding.... It's likely the senescent white blood cells act as food when fasting... And Because growth hormone is increased by fasting... (Often thousands of times) The thymus is rebuilt Causing New immune cells.... Also Hgh is released by sleep and exercise

That's why it's been said by Dr. Steven Gundry that you don't need as much protein as you have been told. Because during autophagy those damaged, or incorrectly made cells and senescent cells (they are protein) become food for the body.

Ramadan isn't a real fast as most people eat the same calories as they normally would. It's just shifted to after sunset. Some eat even more because there's so many gatherings.

Dr. Longo is amazing even if he still eats fish unnecessarily. Functional medicine is whack. What's special about it is not good and what's good about it isn't special. Lifestyle medicine is where it's at. No need to focus so much on unnecessary testing instead just focus on the basics such as a WFPB diet, exercise, sleep hygiene, and perhaps an occasional Prolon fast.

Don’t forget to have some fish and/or small amount of animal products for things like b12/taurine that you need necessary cofactors with to properly metabolize these essential nutrients though. Diet should be mostly plants, with small amount of animal foods.

How about long days water fast? 7 days, 21days, 40days water fast. Any research on its effect with chronic diseases
@whenwetalkaboutnature49032 жыл бұрын
It is unsafe and unhealthy. Yes, with water fast you can successfully lose some weight, BUT you will eventually gain it back. Water fasting is not a sustainable life style and it stresses out your body so much.

There are only 2 states ...eating & non eating ...Feeding or Fasting !! Period !! Walter Longo is an amazing inspiration & a fantastic gift to the human species n continues to pioneer ground breaking reasearch for the betterment of humanity... but FMD is not fasting , neither is any other diet ...the term diet itself is meaningless , fasting means you don't eat anything , just drink pure H2O !! Fasting is free , just move out of the body's way , n let it heal itself !! On On !!
@11BDUBS2 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ! Longos program importantly limits protein to @70 calories daily , which fosters atophagy, though not possible to measure currently that is likely virtually the same as a pure water fast

The fact that a diet is unsustainable due to the size of the population does not make it a bad diet. It just makes it “exclusive”. The bad start is yours on the Carnivore diet.
@karlaelvis9815 Жыл бұрын
The FMD is only "unsustainable" due to the weak minds of humans and their adopted need for instant gratification (constant eating)... perhaps fasting/FMD is merely another method of natural selection....

In the past I was strict organic raw vegan for 3 years. More recently, I have been very high organic grass fed carnivore for the past 3 years. It is NOT easier to eat vegan than it is to eat carnivore... by NO stretch of the imagination. And the increase risk of cancer studies were ALL done with factory feed lot gmo drug and pesticide laden animal foods. And there ARE indeed many ancient carnivore groups that have no disease. HATE how he seems extremely bias against carnivore.
