I remember watching your videos when i built my first PC, which was when you first started your channel, around 2k subs. I said to myself then, that you so underrated. Its good to see now, years later when I am looking to upgrade and build a new system. That you're still here, and still providing the best in class videos on the platform, and that your sub count has grown so much. GG WP👍

Some of the most practical and meaningful content when it comes to real world use. No one ever talks about how CPU’s or GPU’s will perform with background tasks running. Also stressing if you are using the system for work is another good point. Reviews tend to lead hard towards gaming, fps is king. At this point in time however it’s really not that simple. Many folks are using these machines as work horses. Whether that’s fair or not is a different question. As always thanks for the measured review and comparison. Which ever platform new adopters chose, good luck 🍀

Amazing video! Battlefield 2042 just released season 3 last week, and there seem to be significant increase in cpu performance not to mention striking improvement in gameplay resulting in resurgence of interest among gamers. Can you please compare recently released CPUs (ryzen and intel) in new BF2042 season 3? You did a great job last year. ( I would suggest using coop mode to eliminate variability in live multiplayer games and easier benchmarking). Thank you!

Thanks for the video. Would like to see a video where all the cpus are set to lets say 4.5 GHz then tested to see if it is the speed giving you the better performance ie ipc. I like the cpu cooler you use, non of these 360 coolers, that would only go on i9 or r9 cpus. A 360 cooler on a i5 or r5 is over kill and price to performance is not a good use of your money. The biggest reason I like your show is on screen display of info. This gives the viewer more info to make better purchases. This video was missing a lot of those. Still a good video with lots of info.

Tech Deals always deliver the most practical, reasonable, and meaningful review. I still remember the day when I watch your Zen 1 launch VDO, still the best and simply amazing. Thanks for mentioning power consumption and real-world gaming benchmark. Some people seem to think these CPUs take 300W all the time. Your gaming test is also realistic, both 7950X and 13900K are both great for gaming. The difference is minor, they are practically tied, just get the one we like. I am not a fan of the artificial unrealistic tests, says 500++ FPS CS:GO. Yes, we can see the difference but who is gonna buy 7950X or 13900K and RTX 4090 for that? for real? For me, Zen4 and Raptor Lake are both great, tie, at the top end. However, I agree with you that Raptor Lake wins the mainstream (i5 and i7). E-core is just too good to ignore and Zen4 platform cost is too expensive for a 6-8 core CPU in 2023. People can get Raptor Lake + Z690 + DDR4, the price difference covers the cost for another MB. For the top-end system, platform cost becomes less concern :)

Finally someone saids true, only people see benchmarks and results at 100% used CPU. But in real life, how much times a tipycal person or normal user getting closed to that used 100%, really a few persons I think and how much time, few minutes or maximun 1hour. I loved your video.

would you be interested in making a video about the cpu usage of DX11 or older and DX12 games and how disabling hyper-threading or using cpu affinity to limit the cores/threads used by games is a must in 2022 now that we have 8+ cores cpus available to everyone, it's sad to see supposedly "reference" reviewers and youtubers completely miss the point despite some showing abnormal cpu usage with an overlay but not noticing "it's weird" Linus from LTT actually noticed it while reviewing 3000 threadrippers saying "the game usage seems to jump to random cores which creates stuttering" but never went deeper or tried to fix it (that's what cpu affinity is for and anyone can do it with the task manager)

The best 13900K overview (regarding power usage) I've seen is done by PC World. Gordon and Adam shows the power usage over time, and in various light or heavy workloads, also with different power limits. The interesting part is that if you use the default intel PL of 253W, there isn't a huge difference compared to going fully unlimited. There's even a decent drop in power usage and temperature if you limit it to something like 205W. And it shows during normal usage, the 13900K sips power less than the 7950X.

28:13 I don't think enough people have seen this part though it's very important. Many people tend to overblow their reaction if one recommends high end parts. But putting things perspective is key. Look at what your set up is right now, check your needs/budget and plan your upgrade path accordingly so no money is wasted. There is no shame in not buying "the best" if you get your moneys worth in mid range or even low end parts. At least, if prices aren't out of whack in comparison to their performance. (Looking at you, 7600x!)

I went for the 7950X in the end despite the higher and frankly insane X670E cost. The 13900K CRUMBLES as soon as you prevent it from reaching its full wattage. The Ryzen will keep a little over 80% of its performance even when limited to 65W and the loss isn't even noticeable in daily tasks at 125/105W.

Not long ago, I had someone try to tell me that buying an 5800XD3 is a better buy than a 13600K which is a ridiculous statement. If anything, AMD should be dropping prices to compete with intel 13th gen.

Comparing my Xeon E-5 2666 v3 to this 13th gen absolute monster really puts into perspective what competition between AMD and Intel did to the market, in 7 years we went from server-grade and ultra expensive to consumer grade and reasonable price, sure i bought my Xeon used but new it was over 2000 USD, still, AMD got me with their 3D V-Cache, i bid my time until they launch next year.

I love Tech Deals, the benchmarks are realistic and trustable comparing to some other channels. If possible, could I suggest testing the motherboards-based performance? such as cheap microATX Z690m/Z790m vs. expensive ATX Z690/Z790? Cuz recently a lot of rumors about that the cheap micro-ATX Z690m/Z790m cannot sustain long-term high-performance 12900K/13900K under full loads, so we need to buy the expensive ones if we want to get max performance from 12900K/13900K. But is this true???
@TechDeals
@TechDeals Жыл бұрын
In general, motherboards don't really matter to performance, so long as you have enough power delivery and solid VRMs to prevent thermal limits. As for testing a bunch of them, I'm afraid I don't have the budget for that, the CPUs and GPUs are expensive as it is.

@@Zagaara i have a good micro-ATX case, it can only use micro-ATX z690m/z790m mobos. However, z690m/z790m does not have many options to choose from. I am just curious how z690m/z790m can handle full load of 12900k/13900k... btw, cheaper mobos really do not necessarily mean they are worse than more expensives one (not even the high end mobos), which has been benchmarked somewhere else already.

The 5950x aged really well and i am keeping it, its a simple cpu without the bells and whistle such as the 3d cache that needs tweeking to make it run or e cores and p cores which causes some issues on some older games, just a pure 16 core cpu that still performs very well except in the single core which slightly falls behind

I would highly consider the Ryzen platform more than intel. Simply because you will be able to upgrade later on. This fact was something I never considered until I bought a 5700x for $200 to upgrade my 2700x on a budget b450 and there was a substantial boost in performance.

first of all thanks a lot. 2:55 I dont know where you live, but where I Iive, temps are high, like the current temp as of now is 27.3 C, and my 12700K's temps are around 70-80 c degrees and I have a 360 AIO(Lian li galahad360). When under full load, it reaches 81 degrees (all cores at max) and I'm doing research so thats not some artificial benchmark stuff. A month ago, when it was much hotter, around 30~33 c degrees (and very humid like 80+ humidity), it easily hit 94/95 c degrees. I had to buy an air conditioner to keep my rig cool 24/7. Were I to use an air cooler like noctua or Assasin3, I'm sure I couldnt do anything unless I had my ac turned on all the time. So imho the ambient temp must always be mentioned so the user can know what to expect for him/herself. Edit: updated the timestamp

I would suggest anyone thinking of buying these processors to get a decent aio with it because once you start encoding it starts to hit 90 to 100c, or when running rpcs3 while on noctua black heatsink.

Sir my question is these 4 cpu's have so much reserve performance left that has not been utilised but still we see difference in fps? How cpu provide so many frame rates from upgrading to a older gen to newer gen ? i9 12th gen to 13th gen knowing the fact that game is not utilising cpu's full potential! Is it the extra cores in i9 13th gen that fetch more framerates while still utilising 30% cpu usage Similar example for i5 12th gen to 13th gen I am asking this on the fact that you don't to many more cores for gaming

what about temperatures in computing tasks meaning using 90% cpu time and all core load with 360mm aio it will throttle? and what is inside in that big box?🤔something juicy is hidden there i think😁 18A will be some type of nanosheet maybe but it´s incredibly hard to even imaginate how it will be made or even...will electron sometimes pass through transistor? this becoming a serious question anyway it will be interesting or maybe they can use light instead of electrons to reduce or get rid of chance particle pass through problem🤔🤷‍♂
