Hi Randy, i used to do what you did back in the 80s ,walk round the local wreck dealer, sit in the cars pretend they ran.my Dad worked for a shipping company and next door to slipway was a scrap yard ,this was in the 70,s,great days walking round ,they had trucks, cars ,motorbikes etc ,Norton, triumph etc, i had the joy of walking round and sitting on and in classics, some cars were from the 60,s ,i loved those days so much, get rid of mobiles, internet, e-mails,online banking and life was simplar and more fun....

I'm feeling just like you Randy about the past. 1980s, 90s until about 2003. After that been rough but there's still plenty of great things in my life. I found the right woman for me, moved abroad, got myself a great job and live in a nice apartment on the cheap. I'm truly grateful but man I miss the simplicity of the past. It's got me working on the goal of getting me a car like my dad had 1973 Buick Riviera (he had a century Gran sport 350 but they are super rare cars) 1984 Buick Electra wagon and 1996 Chevy blazer s10 4x4.

Randy, Can you answer as to what factors does Co-Part have to determine whether a car should go to the auction or to the scrap yard. Some of your Carnage (Which I love your coverage of) There is not a single useful reason it should go to auction not even useful as a parts car. I've always wondered this. Thanks for your awesome content.

The Blazer has really, really lost it’s distinctive look! It’s amazingly pedestrian and common looking. I think they need to make the “Blazer” emblems much larger otherwise no one will know (or care) what it is! BTW, you think 43 sucks? Just wait my friend. 43 looks pretty damn good to me these days! That weight of the world you’re feeling on your shoulders may be from being a parent because no matter how old your children get, they’re the one thing you always worry about to some degree. At least for me. And I thank God every day for them. I’m very lucky that they are both happy and successful in their lives and that they never went to bed at night worrying about adult things. My dad got very ill when I was eight years old and never worked full time again, so when you talk about the way you grew up it really strikes home for me. I dropped out of high school to help support my folks and younger brother and sister and I promised myself that if I ever had kids they’d live much better and way less worried then I had been. It think that’s what drove me from being a dropout to having a post-graduate degree and a very successful career. I wouldn’t give my kids up for the world but there are times I wonder what life would be like if I never had them. Perhaps I’d find something else to worry about, but nothing even comes close to what they mean to me. I mostly feel that if there’re ok, I’m ok. Cheer up my friend, that weight comes and goes and so long as your kids are ok you pretty much get used to it. It’s extremely evident that you love your family dearly and you deserve a great deal of respect from yourself and other for that. You should be very proud that your hard work gives them a better life then you had.
