My discord group is full of people who don't want to be a ship captain. I want to try all other roles too. I don't know where people get off repeating this idea that "everyone wants to be that captain on the bridge giving orders" based on nothing at all.

I think the majority of people want to captain their own ships and CIG really leans into it, take the Polaris trailer for example, and it makes sense, these are the people that buy expensive ships. But I think a lot of people underestimate the fun that can come from a seemingly dull loop if it's reinforced by achieving something
