There is an easier way to do it using bomb jumping i got after maybe 10 minutes of tries on the switch online version. You go up to the heartpiece box via the floating leaf and bombjump (exploding at the top of your height on a jump) onto the ledge. After you can slowly walk on the seam of it down to the shadow temple. Ended up doing this on a low% challenge using switch savestates and beat Bongo Bongo without bow, eye of truth, or any previous medallions, though i did get din's fire and longshot

@@alhassirakhdugani5813 I remember spending a crazy amount of hours around that spot with the hookshot to try to get up there 😅 I was actually trying to walk on the wooden fence but it was too thin Link would just fall right away. It's crazy to see today now that I'm 35, that I was onto something! I just didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle.

The frame after you showed also works for getting the hookshot jump, you just can't hold back right away because the hookshot freaks out. Although I noticed you retargeted on the sideroll. We just never let go of target. If you were only getting 1 frame that's a possible factor but I don't think it should be. As for movement to the poe, It's better to do 6-7 sidehops right (from landing) and you're in range to use the poe. Navi also calls not long after this otherwise.

@@SplendidFellow It sounds like you're just misunderstanding how this works. 2 frames is lenient in a 20FPS game, especially since you can pause buffer the hookshot press. As for the angle I'm not sure what you mean. You use a flat angle and then just sidehop sideroll, no need to retarget like he did in the video. You just have to hit up after A in a 3 frame window Hookshot jump is just a lot simpler. There's many things that are misunderstood about how tricks or setups work in this game. We get people in the OoT discord asking about tricks every day, and just about every day 1 player learns this within 20 minutes tops because knowing the frame data and whatnot helps. Chuslide teleport IMO is even easier than bomb hovering; what we did before hookshot jump. Can't do that with a strength upgrade, so hovering off the house was only useful before HJ.

ou can also do that at the fence and you are not required to do infinite sword glitch or any jumping, only the last jump over the loading trigger is necessary. You can walk on the ledge just fine if youre just a little careful

This is not the only method, but I believe it’s the most recently discovered and, believe or not, the easiest method. I’ve pulled it off a bunch of times. When doing the hookshot jump, you don’t hold back the entire jump. That would cause you to fly too far back and you’ll overshoot the ledge and void out. Instead you start holding back once you reach mac height of the jump. I find it tough to get ISG off the Poe, so I do ISG with a bomb instead. Getting stuck in the corners is super easy and I’ve failed the trick a lot that way. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of OOT glitch difficulty, I’s probably give it a 5.

Someone was messing around with the hookshot and discovered it could launch you. Then they repeated it until they learned what was causing the launch, then they and other people started trying the newly discovered glitch in other locations where it could be useful
