LOVE your pavement art! I'm in a tiny rural community where kids are bored and do roadshow stunts for entertainment, even in residential neighborhoods. I'm wondering how the paint is standing up to rubber marks and if the paint has had any kind of traffic calming effects in the neighborhood where you did it. Thanks for the awesome video, it is inspiring to see you work. The wall murals on your website are incredibly beautiful. Thanks for sharing your art with us.

Interesting, I might try putting down a white primer below a yellow paint next time I do an asphalt installation. I don't like using yellow because it's usually the first color to pull up if people drive on it, but I'm interested if with a white primer instead of a clear primer, if yellow would hold up better to tire marks.
@iamdetour3 жыл бұрын
You should definitely use primer!

I haven't been back because this area was a part of a neighborhood that was in a devastating fire shortly after i completed it. A ton of houses were lost and they block much of the area from people that didn't live there.

I need to get over to Superior and checkout your work! Of course it is awesome art but I am very interested in the condition/durability. Really like your selection of materials. I painted a street mural in2011 and would like to explore a repaint with knowledge from your experience.

Definitely subscribing! Awesome! This looks like Colorado. Have you ever done any small lettering (3-4”) on asphalt? What would you use?
@iamdetour3 жыл бұрын
Not yet! i would probably use the asphalt marking paint so that its a little more durable. that can also be found at a place like home depot or lowes

Weirdly enough i haven't been back recently because of the large Boulder County wild fires that happened in that neighborhood. the fires took out so many houses there and leveled some neighborhoods.

Curious if you used anything to keep it from getting slippery when wet? Working with my town on a proposal for asphalt art and that is a concern for them.
@iamdetour3 жыл бұрын
I used a stain on many of the horizontal murals that people walk on because it is absorbed into the concrete and doesn't need anything else like a topcoat.

Does anyone have a suggestion for the best way to transfer a design onto the ground ? I've done wall sign before and used a projector at night. Just curious for on the ground ?
@iamdetour3 жыл бұрын
I would say the best way is to practice sketching with a grid and then freehand. It will help to build experience. You can also use a drone if you have access to one to step back from it and see how it’s coming out
@BelovedANU3 жыл бұрын
@@iamdetour Hmm never thought about the drone. I'll see if I can try that. I think the grid may be the best option too
