The racers edge capacitor is like a backup power supply. All it takes is a tiny voltage glitch and the receiver will loose binding with the transmitter and will need to rebind to the transmitter and that can take a couple seconds while the car is going 100mph.

I had the same problem with a hobbywing 4585 motor. The motor can is too fat and it touches the outdrive with the stock gear. I also ran a 29 tooth pinion gear. Great video. 👍

As strong as those connectors are that catpack solder job don't look like it will last. A glitch buster is to help with connection interference.

These are cap packs and they help stabilize the electrical system under heavy load. It helps protect the batteries as well.

Yes. Sorry about that. Just double sided sticky tape. The thick black tape with red covering works great. Don’t skimp on this part.

The stock pinion that comes with the limitless doesn't reach the spur gear like you mentioned. But on mine it's not because it's hitting the drive shaft but simply doesn't reach. The motor mount is pushed as far as it will go towards the spur. So simply stepping up to a 29t pinion with reach the spur ? I have the same motor/each setup as you along with the stock motor mount..,, Thanks.

I think I stepped up to nearly 34 took and 29 spur, something like that.

I was scratching my head, I assumed you stepped up in gearing but couldn't believe the gap between the pinion and spur when I first slid it in place. I have a PPS motor mount on order which will solve all problems but just wanted to run it for a little while before really modifying it. How are your temps with that gearing?

It does not. It is a roller which means it does not have any electronics. You have to buy and put them in yourself.

How did you route the servo wire to get it into the receiver box?

It comes out the right side so I just routed it around the servo and into the box. Pretty straightforward. Are you having issues?

@@GoKaioken I couldn't route it that way. Did you have to remove a little piece of foam to do it? Thing is, once I get the servo in, there is no way for me to get the wire out if the servo housing. It's really weird.

You’re working on a limitless? If your looking at the limitless with the ESC, receiver, and servo mount on the side of the car towards you, when you put your servo in, do the servo wires come out of the servo to the right or to the left?

@@GoKaioken Yes, its a Limitless. I'm working with the Castle 1717 setup like you did. Once I drop the servo in, the wire literally has nowhere to go. The wire on my Servo points towards the front of car.

How do you set this up to run properly? Mine only runs in reverse, unless I switch the motor to run in reverse, then it goes forward. I dunno if that will damage the motor... BTW I have the same components as yours.

Horizon Hobby has options where you can select which ones you want when you purchase the Limitless through them, but most places you have to buy your own stuff.

Why would you pay almost 1000? The car is 399.99 USD. You do have to pay for your own motor, esc, transmitter, receiver, batteries, servo. What you put in is up to you.

This setup got me 117mph. The wires are actually just bread ties with the plastic peeled off. The connectors are OSE8MM. If you search that on google you will find where to buy them. Good luck!

I can estimate it for you, but it depends on the brands. For me personally. The motor and ESC combo was about $400. The servo was 150, but it’s overkill for this application, the transmitter and receiver was 80, oh and I forgot to mention the batteries. I have 2 4S batteries 150 each.

I had to reverse the motor in the castle app and send that to the ESC as well as on the transmitter. Let me know if you have any other questions.
