Out of a lot of Inside Out reactions I’ve seen. You’re the first one not to be annoyed by sadness and get right away her importance and why she’s compulsively touching the memories. Great reaction. This movie made me cry my eyes out lol.

So true! I immediately exit a reaction when they start hating sadness (it's one thing to not understand what the theme of the movie is and get frustrated with her in the beginning but its another to be full on hating and be immature in your reaction). I can't believe how many reactors even after the movie dont get the message so this video immediately became my fav reaction

There's a fan theory that for mom Sadness is the leader because it has matured into Empathy, and for dad it's Anger because it has matured into Determination.
@rafaelmatos5851
@rafaelmatos5851 Жыл бұрын
Mom's Sadness is the leader because she is compassive and empathic. She was the one to sense something was wrong with Riley. Meanwhile, Dad's Anger is the leader so he can be firm and strict. But just because one emotion is the leader, it doesn't mean that defines their personality. Riley's dad may be strict, but he also can act silly. And Riley's mom may be mainly compassive, but she can also be strict like her husband.
@Lannisen
@Lannisen 11 ай бұрын
@rafaelmatos5851 yes, which is why in their minds all the emotions are sitting together and discussing every reaction. It's not just one emotion taking over to react like in Riley.

Many people failed to see initially how toxic and overcontrolling Joy was being to Riley. Joy wanted Riley to feel happy all the time and not experience other emotions in such way that caused actual damage to her mental health. Because Riley was not able to proccess the sudden change of envirement in a healthy way, she spiraled into depression. But that was not just all Joy's fault. At the first night, the other emotions were able to force Joy to back down and they were about to have her lash out on Mom with their frustrations. However, Mom said how happy she was that, in all the troubles they were having with the move, Riley was still being the happy girl they loved, what eventually caused Joy to regain control and have the other emotions' support.

I've seen this movie dozens of times because it used to be my granddaughter's favorite, you are the first reactor to actually see Joy as the kind of villian of the movie. I've seen it that way almost from the beginning. You have to allow yourself to be sad sometimes, its better for your mental health than constantly holding it all in until it explodes.

I love how different Riley's emotions are with her parents' emotions. Mom and Dad's emotions work together, what is a reflection of the maturity on adults who have a much greater control over their emotions. Meanwhile, Riley's emotions are always taking control whenever they feel like it, what results in many explosive and impulsive reactions that is characteristic in children. That is also seen in how Riley's personality islands are powered by one single emotion and that only when Joy and Sadness worked together for the first time is that they were able to create core memories that contained more than one emotion, what then led to the creation of many other islands.

I think you’re the first reactor I’ve seen who not only gets that Joy is wrong in trying to control Sadness, but also understands the logic of WHY Riley’s old memories are supposed to make her sad now. It’s something that seems really obvious in retrospect but is rare to think of on a first watch. Great reaction!
@thedingdongsunshinefuture
@thedingdongsunshinefuture Жыл бұрын
Every time I see this movie I cry or almost cry, it’s really well done. I feel like Joy, at the beginning of the movie, would probably be fine with Riley forgetting memories that were sad. Because she’s only 11 so she has a limited understanding of the world and the only way she knows how to cheer people up is to distract them. But that’s not a good solution because you can’t just forget about the things that make you sad. I like how they represented that when you’re young you have a pretty black-and-white perspective, like a memory can make you feel one way. But by the end, Riley has matured a bit and now she knows it’s more nuanced than that, a memory can make you feel multiple emotions at the same time, like you said, that one was bittersweet. I think it’s interesting to compare the different “control panels.” Riley’s looks kind of fantastical I guess? It doesn’t really resemble a real life place I can think of. But her mom’s looks like a board of directors at an office building. And her dad’s looks like some kind of NASA headquarters. Both professional settings. I think that represents how, as adults, her parents are more organized and their emotions work together as a team, like co-workers. But Riley’s emotions aren’t quite as organized. They still cooperate and the leader delegates tasks, but it feels more chaotic with everyone running around, they don’t seem as united even though they’re all working towards the goal of helping/protecting Riley. Idk if I’m making sense. Anyways, nice video

Y'know,out of all the reaction videos i've seen so far,You are the only one who thought that Joy trying to keep Rilay happy forcefully even though she actually doesn't feel happy was wrong,and that sadness was just doing her job,not being annoying or that she is the bad guy.I enjoyed your reaction very much.Keep the nice work.

7:08 - that's what made me love this movie just like you said the fact that you cant have joy in your life without having sadness (just like the movie showed us) but also that joy is the only emotion that has more than one color on her! her hair for example is blue (which why signiffies that shes "connected" to sadness) and she also has this blue contour/aura around here, meawhile the other emotions are just their color example disgust has green hair, green body and etc its a nice touch that adds to the movie without we even realized

This movie definitely shows the changes in growing up and starting to understand emotions, you can feel conflicted emotions about something, that's why I like when they are talking about rain, sure rain can be sad but it can also be fun. You can experience two or more emotions at the same time. Making all the core memories sad is the feeling of Nostalgia, remembering something and being both happy and sad makes sense.

This movie and Soul are two movies from pixar of recent, that transcends being a children’s movie. they teach such important lessons that i think adults forget more than kids, because usually we still have our childlike ideal of what the world will look like. but as we grow up, we can’t name the feelings we have, we try to cover up our emotions, we feel a need to have a purpose etc etc and these movies are beautifully done and show that, for this one- emotions are complicated are layered, and change is good and necessary and Soul teaches us the importance of appreciation. appreciate the small things of life, for simply just being alive is enough of a reason to continue on living. ugh i just love pixar

One of the few reactors to this movie who didn't hate sadness from the beginning. Well done! 🥰 Mother's main emotion is sadness because her core self drive is empathy. empathy often stems from sadness. The father's is anger because of his drive to provide and protect his family. Yea the core emotions these five, but they work together to create different emotions in a way. The memories Sadness was touching were not initially sad. but when we lose something, even happy memories BECOME sad. And as Joy showed when she was in the pit, one memory did start off sad and the color reflected that when she rewound it, and it became happy when her parents and the team came to help her.

I feel like you can tell a lot about a person by just how quickly they sympathize with Sadness in this. Many people instinctively follow Joy's annoyance with Sadness early on, but those who with a deeper emotional maturity are quick to pick up on the theme of Sadness's purpose early on.

Inside Out 2, expected June, 2024. I agree sequels _can be_ better than the originals. The most famous example I know of is Empire Strikes Back, which was _far and away_ the best Star Wars movie, ever (IMO). When I was little, in commercials where there was Ronald McDonald, I thought he was a little freaky, but I loved the show "Jojo's Circus." So as a little kid, I didn't have a fear of clowns. It wasn't until a traumatic experience in 8th grade where a substitute showed my class Tim Curry's "It" without warning. I've had a fear of killer clowns ever since, and I'm 20.

I've watched tens of reactions to this movie, and you're the only one who understood Sadness and her importance immediately. It wasn't that she was purposefully trying to make Riley sad, Joy was suppressing Sadness and Sadness knew that Riley just needed to have her feelings so she can continue being happy. Also, it always bothered me that Joy didn't even make an attempt suppress any of the other "negative" emotions, and honestly, I think anger has the ability to be WAYYYY more self-destructive than sadness

There can't be joy without sadness. Never good never healthy to hide your sadness to hold in tears like we have many feelings emotions we are human not robots. If we hold in our emotions for to long well soon enough we will explode . Forcing happiness forcing a smile pretending everything is ok is not good not healthy. 23:58 yeah, it's flawed logic, but mostly because she's 11. I moved when I was 11 and I just moved to a new house a quarter mile away, but not long after that I had a big meltdown and some big issues that came up in my life, and ran away back to our old, still-empty house, because that's where everything had been good. Part of me knew going back wouldn't fix it, but at the same time it was the only thing that made sense to do.
