I'm a C-PTSD patient due to generational trauma and abuses, and that "namukonnu kulichalo" kind of re-parenting that you do to yourself tears me up also. I'm here doing such lil things with me every day these days to get me up and do things. It's hard. 🥺 And the weather thing. I don't need a person too to be hyperactive when in such moments. 😅❤️ Hugs dear ❤️ I feel you totally as C-PTSD has some BPD traits. But we got this.💪🏻 We are greater than our ups and downs. I haven't seen a raw interview like this so far in recent times.Hats off to the host for letting Archana speak her heart out and sharing her side of life. More power to women like her ...! I hope she keeps fine and receives all the help possible from near and dear ones. It is so important to find the right people to clinically diagnose and propose the right treatment plan based on the individuals present state of mind. Unfortunately,we don't have many such experts in India who know what they speak or have a clue on what to do. Most commonly suggested "solution" for a person with depression,if unmarried,is to get married and if married and depressed, then have a kid. This itself explains the "expertise" available in our country.

So empowering to see her core strength and life hurdles. A talk session without any drama or unnecessary questions. How beautifully Dhanya chechi listened to her and asked the right questions. Talking about depression is not easy, especially in our community. Telling people that you're going to therapy or taking medication is not easy, especially in our community. But more and more people need to speak up so that others that are struggling through such things understand that's it's okay, they're okay and that they're brave to reach out and get help! To know, you're strong! My father was diagnosed with severe anxiety and depression for 3 yrs. He struggled a lot to get through his days, like Archana mentioned some days he was his old self and other days he barely could move. And one day he decided that he can't take it anymore and he ended his battle... He gave up fighting to stay afloat. There are so many people out there that are going through these things. The more we speak about it the more people will have awareness and the more people will be equipped to help others that need the support! Thank you Archana for speaking up. Thank you Dhanya chechi for giving her the space and the attention she needed to open up about it. Great interview!

When more and more ppl talk about mental illness openly, the so called stigma around this will slowly disappear. More ppl should come forward and share their experiences. Not every mental illness needs to be categorised as psychosis. I had an employee who suffered from bipolar and he was very good in his job during his 'high' phase. There were a few days he was unable to perform his tasks. We accommodated him to certain extent and he spent ~6 months with us. He could not handle the work pressure and he decided to take a break and focus on his health for sometime. Though bipolar varies from patient to patient, there is proven treatment in Homeo. I know a few patients who are able to manage a decent quality of life with regular medicines, yoga and meditation.

As someone with learning disability, I can completely relate with everything she said. But what's different in my case is that it totally destroyed my confidence and self esteem. Eventhough I've found ways to deal with my disability, the scars still remain even after 12 years and doesn't look like it's going to heal anytime soon. The thought that always comes back to me is if only someone had diagnosed me back then and my life would have been totally different.

Please refer somatoform disorder which is a mental condition where a person experience real pain in body but not having any physical issues. This is mostly seen in after 30s women who don't get any kind of attention from others especially their partners and their unconscious mind in making this pain to get care and attention from others. They keep changing the doctors until some doctor said they have some problem. Its makes them felt acknowledged. We can manage this by giving extra care to them. Understand their feelings, counseling, make them engage in some activities which they feel worth about themselves.

More power to you Archana for speaking out and being as real as can be. Mental health is a journey, like you rightly said. It isn't always a low and then success all of a sudden. People expect you to snap out of it quickly like it's a phase. It's not! And why I say that? Because I too am a recently divorced woman who went through hell and needed help. Mine is not amicable like yours. It's been 2 years and I still have nightmares that I am back at his place. Whenever my therapist say we can stop sessions, after 2 months I would have to restart because the scar is that deep. It takes time. And I learnt to be very loving and gentle with myself. Anyone reading this in similar situation - hold onto your family and your close friends. Their role in your recovery is very important.

24:23 THIS! I couldn't relate more. Almost all of my friends are not even comfortable with me talking about my bipolar disorder, and they can't understand when my symptoms show up. They just think I'm being mean. My parents, on the other hand, have been the most supportive and understanding to me. Like most of the people in their generation, my parents are not very aware of mental illnesses. But they, especially my mom always tried their best to support me and understand me in all my conditions. I have seen many people suffering with bipolar disorder all over the world saying that their parents/moms helped them live with the illness. I have realized and came to terms with the fact that apart from my immediate family, no one will ever be supportive of me (except other people who have BD who can relate to my experiences).
