Story of my life! Took me 15 years to realise. Wish these resources were available earlier. Hopefully this generation can take help of these talks and do the right thing and not have to suffer. Aafiya explained everything with lot of clarity. Please continue this series Dhanya! Appreciate it a lot! I am going to save and download this video. The day I get my divorce and my family asks me the reason, I will just share this video because I will never be able to explain what I go through day in and out.

I so agree! All the interviews on this channel are amazing but this one surely stands out for me as well. The fact that so many people I know have gone through such similar toxic relationships and are still going through them but are not entirely sure how to deal with it or how to process it - this interview will surely give clarity on what’s probably happening and hopefully help more individuals to reach out to therapists and counselors.

Unfortunately we the people in this country are half baked.. We have not developed as citizens who clearly knows the rights, duties and respinsibility as an individual and as a social beings.. Change in the education system plus restructuring of all the institutions is also equally important to achieve this goal.. Great job channel 👍.

I’ve been through each and every situation that has been explained in this interview ! When I told My family about this, they blamed me Saying when he has changed why are you still blaming! And that change will be for few days only again he will Go back to the same toxic situation!I always thought my family would be there for Me but they weren’t! They said he will change! The pain I went Through, the self doubts…the anxiety, the panic attacks the toxicity… it was unbearable! It took me 8 years to understnd that it was because of his disorder that this was happening to Me! And I had to Go through many years of research to understand all that she explained here! And now when I’m in a much better state cause I’ve realized all this, I would like to say that it’s not the forgetfulness of sense of self but it’s the lack of Awareness of sense of self that makes these situations traumatic! Once u attain this sense of self, these actions can only be seen as his mental disorder and nothing else! And it gives us sooooooo much freedom Within that I can’t even explain what it is! Also I agree to whatever you said they will Never change unless they would want To! They have soooo much of Lack of Self Esteem That they would never agree publicly even though they might believe within their hearts! Up to the partner to decide to stay or leave cause I feel for kids it’s gonna be a Mental torture too for something they are not the reason for! I feel the best thing is to treat your partner as a child who has a mental Disorder if at all we are planning to stay with them! If it was our child, how we would frgibe them! But the most important part is to have very clearly Your sense of self!!!!nothing can beat that confidence!!!

Few of us in the same boat as your dear. You rightly said once we become aware of what is happening, we can get rid of our self doubts, it’s empowering and gives the strength to rise above this. Only few are lucky to have a supportive family, nowadays I don’t see any meaning of the word family. Everyone around(Parents and siblings) just want trophy relationships to showcase to the world!

Why is it that many Kerala men seem so similar in certain ways? It feels like they struggle to handle arguments, often dismissing valid points by blaming and labeling the other person as 'mad.' In my relationship, this pattern is frustrating-especially when self-reflection is absent, and mistakes are always found in others. How can such attitudes change for healthier relationships?"
@iamwithdhanyavarmaАй бұрын
Well Men generally speaking ..are not tuned into their emotions..they are raised stating that being emotional or expressive is not being " man enough"..and anger rage is the only socially acceptable outlet...I guess that's where it all starts

Excellent episode. Afiya and Dhanya 👏 I can relate all that Afiya said!! Felt like my story!! It took me 17 yrs years to realise this is not right! Inspite of all the abuse you and gaslighting .. you still feel guilty … trauma bond 😮 Even when he insisted on having no contact with my parents … I agreed hoping something will change!! Our society is changing but very slowly. I hope episodes like these will bring awareness and women have the courage to make decisions wisely. Sadly in most cases you are asked to adjust! and it’s accepted by the society. Waiting for next episode ❤

It’s a good talk. In today’s world both men and women should be working . Instead of cooking and clean they should use outside services like Swiggy and cleaning services. You didn’t talk about mind games, manipulations, ego play and power play. These things are common among men and in the corporate world 😊

Such an enlightening session mam not only for the silent intakers of the abuses but to the coming generation to stick on with their sense of self. Yet I hava a small request mam. Most of the women have a thought that seeking legal help is impossible to protect themselves from any type of these abuses. So if possible can you arrange a legal awareness session to help them comeout of their weaknesses and to break the stigma enclosing them.
