WOW! I honestly thought the movie might feel unnecessary or that it wouldn't fit well with the story Steven Universe currently had going...BUT i stand corrected. This movie was beautiful and once again, proved how incredible Rebecca Sugar and her team are at crafting stories!

I don’t hate pink/rose but I do think that she did a lot of horrible things that she never owned up to (hiding bismuth away, faking her death, leaving her problems to Steven, leaving spinel, etc.) she could’ve solved these issues much earlier she had 6 thousand years to do so but never did

It was bad that she left Spinel at all but if she really intended to leave her like that forever I think it is the worst thing she has done. I really hope that something happened that caused her to not come back or I will be very disappointed in her. Maybe since Spinel clearly had a way to travel through space she thought it was the only way she would leave, be free, and make more friends.

At the end of the day pink was still a diamond. She like the other diamonds all had bad pasts. Pink tried to run away from her past becoming rose. I think she felt that her giving up her form to make Steven was a way would make up in a way for all the bad things in her past, and a way to forget them too

I don't know if someone's already commented this but I love how when Steven is making them re-live important events they are reversed. Sapphire saves Ruby (Ruby saved Sapphire), Steven shows Amethyst how to have a good time (When Steven felt like a little kid and Amethyst cheered him up), and Steven and Greg show Pearl a fusion (From when Pearl and Pink fuse in front of Greg to form Rainbow Quartz). It was amazing in my opinion. I just noticed that I forgot to mention how when they all gather in the song Steven is the one that will stop the fight while the rest helps evacuate the citizens in contrast to when Jasper arrived and Steven was told to leave while they fought. I saw a comment on another video by Listless Lion say how there's another one where when Garnet says "Why are you guys fighting? I thought we were all friends" is another reference for when Steven asked Garnet why do gems fight when they should all be friends. This movie is just filled with these references and I'm living for it, I wonder how many more there could be. Ok I'm gonna add another thing, you guys have to listen to Everything Stays by Rebecca Sugar. It was made for Adventure Time I believe but it goes so well with Spinel's backstory that it's just so hard not to think there is a correlation, dare I say it was a foreshadow all along? Just a little reminder that Spinel only knew what was happening after Steven's broadcast communication, which happened a few years after he returned to Homeworld. If Steven never did that broadcast, Spinel would've been still waiting.

Fantastic movie, I just have one complaint about it. The speed at which Spinel found the rejuvenater, the injector and learned how to use it, it seemingly happened in a couple hours. If they somehow time skipped a month, or even a week it would have felt better. Also Pink is a terrible person and Spinel deserved better

This is how I would have solved that problem, the movie would start before the time skip, and he would make a similar announcement, but he spends the time skip going planet to planet helping gem colonies, this would be shown in a montage. The movie continues normally after he gets back to earth that way spinel has two years to get all that equipment and plan her attack. Not only will it make more sense but her saying she was watching the broadcast on a loop would be more impactful if it was two years.

The real question is: how did she even get this stuff? Wouldn't have Steven made the Diamonds destroy all their weapons and colonizing equipment along with them disbanding their armies? And even if some stuff was still laying around somewhere, who and why would just give that extremely dangerous stuff to a random spinel? Or any gem at all? And even if hypothetically there was some rouge colony or something that wanted Steven dead and had access to such equipment: Why didn't they do that already themselfes? Wh would they need Spinel for that? How did Spinel knew about or get to them? None of this makes any sense. Hopefully we'll get some explanations in season 6 but I highly doubt that.

Spinel is such a great villain, because she is relatable to a lot of people. She was abandoned and went insane because of it. All her motivations can be traced to her abandonment and the fear of it happening again. She lashes out at the people who she sees as responsible. And she forces the people who try to get close to her away, so when they, at least in her mind, abandon her she can go 'See? I knew I was right, you were going to abandon me as well!' and feel justified for how she treats them. They did a really great job with her mental issues. and showing that she is making strides, then backsliding, and then making more strides towards healing shows how much of a struggle overcoming mental health issues is.

With all this in mind, Steven HAS gained a happily ever after. But while the possibility of other battles may loom on the horizon. One must never forget to cherish every moment of peace and love they might have, however long they last. That's the important thing every hero must strive for, peace (be it ever-lasting or otherwise.) Am I wrong or am I right

And a video to her fellow Diamonds where she lets them know what happened and why she left and never returned, still somewhat angry at them for everything they did.
