OH yes, this is the perfect way to start my morning. I just got the new PXG 2021 0211 with a regular MMT shaft for the same price of steel. My instructor told me that if it was the same price, there is little to no reason to go for steel instead other than the stigma that comes from playing graphite but tbh, I just want to have fun!

I love the MMT shafts. I have the 105TX and debated the 125TX as I switched from the DG X100’s. The weight of the X100’s (120) were closer to the 105TX than the 125TX but the lighter shafts is taking me a little bit to time the swing up. However I love the MMT’s as my shoulder and elbow joints hurt less after a round. That was the reason for the switch as I’m getting older.

New to your channel. Must be 15+ years ago the owner of the golf course and range that I regularly used ask me to show up for a demo day. @ianfrasergolf3 жыл бұрын

@mvansb233 жыл бұрын
@@ianfrasergolf I do recall that you and Matty both had them in the bag at some point. Was just curious if there was actually anything you didn’t like with the T100. Sounds like it was more about the Miura just being that little bit better for you. Also curious about the launch angle. It seems like there is a lot of focus by folks to get launch down to half the loft. So would have been more 15* in this test. I know you are a bit more of a shallow player. I’ve been really focused on that heuristic with my iron game. But it seems a bit unnatural to force them that low. 15 launch with 30 lofted iron is more of a knock down swing for me than a stock swing. I wonder if that half the loft thing is more for average swing speeds and not really feasible at higher speed. But then Trackman tour average with 6i is 14.1. And I have to believe average loft on tour is 30*. I have to work really hard to launch that low with 30* loft. Maybe tour guys just play with that much more shaft lean that us mortals.
@jacobmccain80823 жыл бұрын
@@mvansb23 Have learned to just embrace your swing. I'm on the other end of the spectrum as I average about 15* launch with my 33* 7i t100-S. Would love to launch it a bit higher but not at the expense of consistency.

I recently noticed that your dots on clubs for GCQuad may to be out of spec. According to the GCQuad manual, the middle dots are supposed to be between the 6th and 7th grooves. Is there a reason that you place these dots lower than that?
@ianfrasergolf3 жыл бұрын
The CG is not on the 6th to 7th groove, that’s too high. The middle grooves are designed to represent the horizontal CG.
@dm47893 жыл бұрын
@@ianfrasergolf That is very interesting. How does moving the dots lower affect FSX’s data rendering/visualization of where the ball impacted the face? For instance, would 11mm high actually only be 5mm high, etc?

Curious about going from Oban 125 stiff to those MMTs in 125 TX. Was there much a feel difference? Was it just due to speed gains? And are these replacing the old gamers? Curious bc I play the Oban 125 in stiff as well.

The MMT as well as most graphite iron shafts have alot more torque than a comparable steel shaft. Doesn't that require better timing in the swing to square the clubface vs a low torque steel shaft?

I’m curious about that dynamic lie issue. How much of that might be a result of the MMT rather than the Oban? Naturally, there’s a lot of other things that you might like about the MMT over the Oban, but it kinda seems like the MMT introduced a problem. Did you happen to test the Oban again off camera? I presume that you wouldn’t automatically adjust the lie on say your wedges if you don’t change shaft. Accurate? Disclosure: I play Oban, trying not to take this personal 🤪
