Um documentário sobre a vida do maior atleta olímpico da Austrália. Um retrato honesto de como um ícone esportivo chega a um acordo com a sua própria fragilidade humana.

I think this is the most unpretentious, raw Ian Thorpe I have ever seen...with a shattered dream and a broken pride et al, a true human side of once an unbeatable Olympic swimmer. I’ve been Ian Thorpe’s fan since Sydney 2000 and after 21 years later, I admire and respect him even more. The very last bit of the documentary made me smile and reminded me of Ian that I remembered when he was just a 17-year old Olympic champion.

Nope . It's Phelps but Thorpe is probably the second best swimmer ever

@@user-ux5zi2iz8o in terms of style and stroke Ian absolutely blew Phelps out the water. Literally

a true champion and a great human being as his sensibility is his strength in the water as it is his weakness outside of it. still a champion thou, beautiful freestyle and one of the greatest swimmer, ever! Period.

You are one of my icons and even though you didn’t get in the olympics does not matter at least you put the Commitment to the effort Even though you didn’t win doesn’t mean you can’t beat them

I keep with what he said: “ the best swimming is not in competition” Swimming is swimming it doesn’t matter if the swimmer compete or not Keep swimming Mr Thorpe….for swimming itself!

Like a lot of sports I suppose. Swimming can be also unfair. A bloke 6'5" and feet as big as flippers with hands size of tennis racquets, shoulders almost as wide as a door frame. They always have a massive advantage. If you're only 5' 8" you need winding up like a clockwork mouse. Big blokes are usually always stronger than the smaller competitors.

O problema é que Thorpe não usava nada e depois seus adversários começaram a usar drogas para vence lo!

Wonderful documentary but the fact remains that his comeback was lousy. He was out of shape and fat and he went for 100/200 that require speed. He should have gone for 400/800/1500 meter freestyle and he will have had some sucess due in part to his unique and efficient stroke. But his weight? He was fat? It is still a good documentary, because it shows that people age and often times the finish is not a dream or a happy ending, but reality.

It’s too bad he became a LBGT , lot of people looked up to him as a role model and he let many down.
