Beautiful end product. The editing is interesting but not everybody uses Lightroom (if that was the app used). Again, beautiful image.

Nice to see how you work on this image. What I don't like is the subtitles unter. So you don't see the whole picture.

Great video Ian well explained. Loved the discussion around complimentary colours and eliminating blue, this is not an area I've ever really considered so food for thought. Super final printed image although I may have removed the two branches intruding from top left, although I do understand and respect your aversion to cloning. Keep up the good work.

What a great location and shot! Thanks for broadening my possibilities with Adobe. You might also have given me direction on where I should live when I retire. I can’t make it to the UK, but perhaps Tennessee where my oldest daughter lives. I know that state has the green hills, mountains, streams and old stone buildings. So glad I was directed to your channel.

Looks great Ian, a lovely little scene. My only very minor critique, if I may be so bold, would of been to retain the blue in the smoke to draw attention too it. The fact that someone was living in such an old building was an interesting story within the frame (to me anyway) and the smoke provided some of that evidence ( cables aside) Enjoy your vids, have a great week! nice image and edit Ian, don't know if you ever tried this but rather than use the clone stamp or spot removal tool try using the laso selection tool then edit / fill make sure content aware is selected, I seem to almost always get a better result, thanks and keep up the good work :)
@ian_worth3 жыл бұрын
Yes i quite often use that technique for cloning big areas, it works really well 🙏👍👍

Really enjoyed this Image Ian and as much as I hate cloning I really felt that the tree branches on the top left to be distracting. Kept waiting to see them removed lol. Problem is that each time I look at this image my goes to the top left and not the water wheel!!

Great video. This one of my favourite spots in Borrowdale. Having lived in Keswick 26 years I only discovered it two years back. Have been a few times now and the amount of water in Combe Gill does make a lot of difference to the atmosphere.

First off, a beautiful image, really like that natural warm style. As for the video, I love when you do these, they are so useful for people like me who are relatively new to editing. It's one thing to learn what all the tools and sliders do, another thing entirely to understand how to create a certain look from a RAW file. It helps of course that you have a wonderful way of explaining your thought process, for me you're up there with the best on you tube.

Always nice to see an edit video Ian - it's interesting to see how others process their images. I have a tendancy to use the luminance slider in LR more than the saturdation slider to lift images (with a tad os sat/contrast. I liked the image and the print had a painterly feel to it. I know you have dicussed and done videos on sharpening but do you ever experience the worm effect these days at all? atb Al
@ian_worth3 жыл бұрын
I do my sharpening in photoshop Alan, it seems much better than LR's sharpening 👍👍

Great shot Ian, hoping to get there myself this year as staying in a yurt not too far away for my holidays. Something I’ve found really effective on scenes with mossy rocks is the blue camera calibration slider, increasing it boosts yellows and the I reduce the blue saturation on the HSL to balance the effect out.
