Never before has it been so important to cut fuel consuption and pollutant emission of vehicle powertrains to achieve the future fleet target of less than 75 gram of Co2 per kilometer. The efficiency of combustion engines must therefore be significantly enhanced.
Pre chamber ignition is a technology that helpes to make combustion more efficient. It has been used for many decades in stationary large bore gas engines. The pre chamber is currently also used in formula one racing.
