To find BD, you could have simply divided -6 by 4. Think of a midpoint, the ration is 1:1, but you divide by 2 to get its coordinates, so its like dividing by the sum of the ration. The ratio for this is 3:1, so divide by four, which also gives -1.5, and since the line is on the same plane (j,k coordinates), D will be (-1.5, 1, 3). I think you can also use the same concept of upper quartiles to calculate the i (-1.5).

Yup, there were definitely easier ways I could have done that question. That's the trick and the beauty of IB math tests...there are often multiple ways to access the more complicated questions, depending on how you think. That's just how I thought about it when I first read the question, so that's how I did it!

Will the questions actually be like this? My paper 1 exam is tomorrow and I thought it would be harder. Most questions I've seen on youtube have been quite simple.

This particular paper is the only one I've recorded Questions 1 - 10, so it should give a fair representation of difficulty. You will find question 6 and 7 to be quite challenging on most Paper 1's, and question 10 as well. If you're looking for a challenge, google those!
