It's so refreshing to see an effects demo not being done with a guitar. Awesome!

I have one of these. I think I bought it new in 1983. It was amazing when I first heard what it could do. Before then I had a Watkins Copycat tape echo.

The negative feedback is mostly for flanging/comb FX, short delays with high feedback should prove a dramatic difference between +/- feedback :-)

Good review ! i was wondering if you could help me out with connect the DM1000 to Ableton as insert FX with my Mbox pro 3 , In the Mbox pro 3 manual it says i need a trs (2x mono) to TS (stereo) Y cable and connect those to the insert input of the Mbox pro 3 but would i be able to to connect 2 x mono cables to the Mbox pro 3 on a input , i would like to use the delay as insert but also to feedback on it's self for Dub delays

In Ableton go to AUDIO EFFECTS then choose EXTERNAL RACK. Select your input and output. This enables you to use outboard gear. There are tutorials on yt. cheers

Really nice and prob best demo of dm on the web. May i wonder if you also tried a Deltalab effectron 2? Wonder how they compare as it seems that they are quite similar in features and tone. Have a chance to pick up the maxon dm1000 locally or save up a bit and get the effectron.

lovely demo of the effects - do you know if the DM2000 is pretty much the same? from what I've seen it's just got a longer max delay

so is that supposed to be better for recordings?...cause digital instruments lose power when you plug it into the rhodes...that is what I experienced when I hooked up the re20 space echo...i returned it...it lost power when i hooked it up? Vintage instruments are pretty particular what you put inside them ;-) ..thanks for sharing I like your videos...

The Rhodes sounds pretty anemic running direct in, would sound a lot better through a nice pre with a bit of EQ. Ibanez delay sounds cool though ..........

Probably bad grounding on the PCB. Open it up and look for broken sockets, or just randomly reflow every solder joint

Its noise from the input. Id consider a cheap gate to fix this.
