I have one from 1991 I beat the crap out of it from bedroom practice to band gigs. Its got the usual cracks were the nut bolts are and it still an amazing guitar every time I pick it up. and it still stays in tune like no other guitar I have and sounds amazing.

I wish Ibanez would go back to the HSS pickup configuration....My Ibanez RG560 that I bought back in 87 was amazing. It had the HSS pickup config, and the color was "Grape Ice"

I finally got to buy one. The window of opportunity sadly wasn't open long. Only in production 2017-2018. I bought the last one ZZ Sounds had in JB, it was listed as blemished. When I got it, it was brand new, plastic still on everything, in the original box, everything only blemish I found was the tone knob wasn't tightened and wouldn't stay on. I tightened it w/ a jewelers flat head screwdriver. Good as new. I'm so happy after waiting 30 years, I finally got one. Such an amazing guitar. Took me about a week to get used to the neck, super thin and flat, been playing a LP a lot lately, so it took a while to get used to it. But that edge Trem i swear it's the best trem that was ever created. I wished Ibanez would have kept the 570's alive and offer more colors. But Sadly, they discontinued these. But if anyone can find one, worth every cent..

Have you ever dealt with Sweetwater music? That's where I learned of it's return to production Feb of 2018. I had to pre-order and due to the high volume of orders had to wait another month for delivery. Brand new out of the box. Only draw back was you had to order the hard case seperately. Sweetwater is awesome to deal with.....you have your own Rep take care of you and they do a top notch job with one on one. You can call or email and they will touch base with you.

@@richardstaser6897 yeah I talked to a rep from Ibanez and they discontinued them completely in 18'. As for a case these didn't come w/ one. I have used Sweetwater, sam ash, musicians friend and ZZ. What i like most about ZZ is usually same price as the others but you can do a monthly payment plan w/o credit card or credit check if under 1k USD. Update on my Jewel blue, I just installed a set of Seymour humbuckers. A distortion Trembucker in the bridge and a sh2 jazz in the neck.. KILLER

@Luke The 550 is the guitar made for Hard Rock/Metal Rhythm and lead. This guitar is about as versatile as they come, which is why just about everyone played a 550 when they first came out in the late 80's and into the early 90's. And why guys like Vai, Satch, Timmons, Gilbert, etc etc. stayed w/ Ibanez since the 80's. That's why I love them, I can't find a better all round guitar.. I've tried and spent thousands trying to find something better, but I keep coming back to the Ibanez 500 series. It's a no brainer, honestly the hardest part when it comes to buying a Ibanez 500 series, is what color do you really want.

A buddy of mine bought the original back in the day and I fell totally in love with it. Being a Gibson fan it was hard to get me to even look at another guitar. Glad to say I was looking to buy the 1570 which was the updated version from the original just to find out they stopped making them......but....I was later to learn of the return of the RG 570 in 2018 and for my B-day treated myself to the Jewel Blue beauty of the late 80's. It's still every bit of the beast I remember from back then. This is a must have for any guitar player.

I remember looking at pictures from the CD booklet from Swallow this Live as a teenager lusting after this guitar because CC was playing it. I finally was able to get one - a 1989 model in really nice shape. Super happy with it. ❤️

I saw CC play that same guitar on the same tour in Tempe, AZ. Loved that he played the Rg 570 on that tour, he did play a jem on the open up and say ahh tour but not the entire set. I was the same way though.. one of my all time favorite guitarists playing my favorite guitar for a full set.. it was cool. Especially since we were all so used to CC playing tons of Bc Rich guitars and making a bunch of guitar changes. The night I saw him on the F&B tour he stuck w/ the blue Rg all night. Which told me, he finally found the one axe that could take a beating night after night-all night and still sound amazing which made me appreciate the Rg's even more.

Actually I saw that CC had at least two identical RG 570's Jewel Blue on that tour. But one is missing the truss rod cover.

I have my RG 550 Genesis in Pruple Neon...it's an amazing guitar...planning on getting the other colors as well for a good collection. Key with the pickups is to lower them a bit they will sound better.

yeah I believe on the Flesh & Blood tour he only took out like 3 Rg 570's. 2 in Jewel Blue (one missing a truss rod cover) and a black one. I never saw him play the black one live, But I found a photo of him with it back stage while on tour.

I have that exact guitar, except mine is a '91. started to not hold tune. put new trem springs in. right back to perfect. now it needs frets. an amazing instrument. I bought mine used in '95ish for $320. whoever had it never played it. it was perfect.

I remember seeing one in a local music store for almost 900.00. The catalog listed these at 949.00. I just looked at it again to double check. But if you check on the ol' inflation calculator. if these were to sell for the same price as back then, they'd be listed at 2450.00. So, todays' versions are much cheaper.

I own this guitar and loved so much except the bolt on neck. It is so difficult to play on higher frets because of the bulky joint. I think joe satriani signature guitars also have that type of joint and he plays easily on higher frets. Could someone guide me on this?

No difference; I own the 89’ RG 570(purple) and a brand new RG 550(purple) both from Japan and they sound the same only the 550 has pick guard!#IbanezFamily#RG#🎸🔥🤘🏻

I love them at a distance. had a RG 560. The trem makes rhythm playing a wobbly affair. Don't get on with locking trems too well. The necks are far from vintage in profile. They are superbly made and functioning, but just not for me. Everytime I see one I think; WANT, but then I check my memory and think; not for me - Dang! I always wished Ibanez would make The 550/560 models with 22 fret vintagestyle necks, kinda like the RS series, so vintage lovers could get the sound and feel, but have the modern funktionality. I guess they are well on their way at the moment with the AZ line.
