to anyone watching this when he mentions the coil splitting while push/pulling the volume knob he is wrong, the tone knob does the coil split - the volume knob has a high pass filter that I don't think he mentioned.

Seems like there were two mistakes there. The neck pickup is actually a Dimarzio PAF Pro. Second, the coil split is activated via a push pull on the tone knob, whilst the push pull on the volume knob activates the high pass filter. Other than that, great playing and nice demo of the guitar...

Just saw this guy do a demo of the JS100, too. I don't know if he's using a different setup from that video, but MAN, what an improvement from the 100 to the 1000. Love this guitar.
@DavidMakesNoise
@DavidMakesNoise 5 жыл бұрын
Alex LoCurto I’m sure the setup was slightly different but it’s mostly the pickups. The js100 has Ibanez pickups that kind of suck and this one has dimarzio pickups so there’s definitely a tonal difference

love this guitar. i've played the new one, the js 2400, and it is seriously the best guitar ive ever played. that mojo is a screamer. the protrack gives you a hot strat vibe for some good old blues and the neck is one of the best ones ive ever played

This is a later model with the thinner neck. Older JS 1000s have the JS1 necks, which are quite a bit thicker. The PUs are shit though, switched mine for Duncans after a couple of years.

Was Danny's lavalier mic also used to pick up the amp sound? I can hear the pick hitting the strings. This is a fantastic guitar (I own one), but the recorded amp tone in this video doesn't do this guitar--or any guitar, for that matter--justice.

In my opinion, Ibanez guitars can't really give you that perfect, ear-melting clean sound that you can get from a Fender or Gibson guitar. I own a Fender Stratocaster (American made), a GIbson Les Paul (American made), and an Ibanez RGA72TQME (Japanese made) and all the Ibanez guiitars I have tried can't give you the same clean quality as a Fender or Gibson. Ibanez was made for heavy playing (in my opinion) which I really love.

Beautiful playing, beautiful guitar, but seriously, for the price, i'm surprised it doesn't sound better on the clean channel and even the dirty one. Just my opinion though, I am not an expert or anything like that, but yeah I don't think that for the price it's worth it.
@AndyNyle
@AndyNyle 9 жыл бұрын
I think there is a bit of a bleed from a mic and u can hear the string buzz etc. They should isolate the signal from the amp, crank the volume and it will sound glorious on clean. Also, they use 9s for string gauge which is on lighter side. Using with 10s (not sure if it is possible with Floyd them) would add beefiness.
@normt6226
@normt6226 2 жыл бұрын
I do own this guitar and it is marvelous...But a guitar is only part of the chain...You also need a great amp,great pedals and especially good delays and reverb...and by the way string gauge as nothing to do with tone...i play 8.5-40 and it does sound heavenly...
