I really did like this guitar. This was my first 7 string back in 2005 when I got it new. I have an Ibanez UV70P green dot these days but I miss that RG7321. The neck actually felt really good and soloing on it was a breeze. I played it stock for 9 years through a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier 3-channel head and a Randall RG100 G3 Plus 2x12 combo. It sounded pretty good. I admit the stock pickups were pretty muddy on the low end and I had always planned to swap them. I ended up giving that guitar to a friend of a friend. I hope they like it as much as I did.

Had an RG7321 myself, great introduction to the extended range. Fishman also makes a non-soapbar style of their Modern pickups for seven strings. They shouldn't require any routing, maybe just a bit of sanding down the edge of the cavities like I had to do on my RG1527 to fit a covered set of BKP Aftermaths.
@Crypticmaskguitar6 жыл бұрын
Just ordered the Fisman Fluence Moderns! They are the Non-Soapbar version... Sanding sounds A LOT BETTER to me than routing haha! Thanks for that tip! I'm definitely open to other 7 string guitars now! Cheers -Ryan

Shortly. I've got some Amp Head Shoot-Outs that I did with the upgraded 7321 (Fishman Fluences). I also bought a Jackson Rhoads 7 String and a Jackson SLAT 7 string haha addictive! Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar you have link to that? Sorry I just found your channel not to familiar with it. I bought a fluence 7 bridge and that ibanez rg7321 lol to pair. Just get tired of setting up a Floyd on my other guitars. During install I realized I needed to route more space for the humbucker. But been wanting to hear what the pick up sounded like with this guitar.
@Crypticmaskguitar6 жыл бұрын
Doesn't come out for about.a week. Otherwise I'd link it for you. It sounds MILES BETTER than the Stock Pickups. The fact that there are 2 options with the Push Pull is awesome and the Coil Tap is phenomenal as well! You only bought the Bridge Pickup? Are you able to mix that with the stock pickup? How does that work with only one volume and one Tone set when one requires 500k (stock) and the other requires 25k (Fluence) Pots? Cheers -Ryan

Good day, I’m fairly new to guitar maintenance. I would like a much lower action, but if I tighten the trusrod I get fret buzz in the lower frets (1-3), would I have to get a taller nut to fix this?
@Crypticmaskguitar2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have an upbow in your neck if you're getting buzz from 1-3. Id set a little more relief first to get rid of thee buzz. Are you not able to lower your action from lowering the individual saddles? That's usually the first spot to try and lower your action. Generally you would adjust your truss rod if you action is too high in the higher frets. Cheers -Ryan

@@Crypticmaskguitar i've loosened the TR a quarter turn and lowered the saddles. it plays better, but it is still high vs my RG450 and way higher than my MIM strat.

Good deal! I got a rg7620 once for 100$ many years ago. Kid was on drugs. I felt bad. But not bad enough to buy his guitar. He was fucked up and I showed him a 100$ bill and said, for the 7 string. He took it. Then karma caught up when i snapped the headstock off on stage oops

Have a RG7321 or RG7421 can't tell the difference plus had it 22 years so have forgotten. Probably RG7421 as RG7321 was released in 2001 I think? Bit of fiddling for B string as they didn't have 7 string sets available at the time, that I do remember! 😆

@@Crypticmaskguitar Gonna use this oportunity to ask you something. Sorry for bother haha. On my js 22-7 i upgraded the tuners, nut and pups. Yes, the sound is great and all but string height is a problem. Cant get it low enough. Will upgrading to hipshot allow me to fix that or my luthier is just crap? :D If it will help, 0.125 or 0.175 should be used? Which one? Thanks again!
@Crypticmaskguitar2 жыл бұрын
Jackson's use the .175 Hipshot Bridge. I've never had an issue with action being too high. Could be a combination of issues... Jacksons come stock with a slight upbow, if that wasn't resolved before the new nut was installed that could be part of the issue. But I also remember hating the stock bridge as well. But if you check with Jackson (or even just check the specs on Misha's 7 Strings) they recommend the .175 Hipshot Bridge. best of Luck! Cheers -Ryan

I used to have a 7321 - my first 7 sting too in 2007, but it must of been built in a rush or after a hangover as it were horrible to play, intonation was the shits as well and the slightest string bend - it was out of tune. They are popular 7's but mine was just a 'white elephant' so changed it for a S7420, but I couldn't get used to the S series body or the ZR trem so went to back to the RG in the form of the GRG7221 and believe or not it's better than the S7420 and RG7321 I owned. As with most 'budget' guitars the pickups are pretty naff.
