I always LOVED this way. The functionality was infinitely gigable. Some songs I’d want that spring wah, where it automatically returns to heel-down position when you take your foot off, sometimes I’d use it without the spring so it’d stay notched. Great sound and great on bass too!

One of my co-workers and I just randomly struck up a convo about guitar and he offered to sell me this pedal. I should have it by the end of the week. Funny thing is I was JUST about to buy a Hendrix wah.

Also, take a look inside the pedal at 2 internal trim pots, play around with them at your own discretion, just try to remember there stock settings! Oh and I like the Norm and LOW ability, so I did some soldering and used a true bypass switch (some kind of dpdt kinda thing) and made it so all i have to do is click and I can change which frequency i want to use. But it does take up the battery compartment, but I use power supply, no worries here.

These are really underrated. This guy does a decent demo of what these can do - the fact that it can go subtle adds a lot of possibilities when combined with other effects..

I have one of these. It's built to withstand nuclear war. One thing that most people don't do (but is still really fun) is switching to low mode while using a guitar. Insane, unique sound results.
@razormusik15 жыл бұрын
I have this pedal. What you need to do is dime the fine tuning knob, level at 5, Q at 6, low at 4. Also, set the switch on low. The difference is amazing on high notes and it cuts much of the digital sound.

I bought a new one years ago, haven't used it much yet, and don't like the name, but it is one of the most versatile, full featured, great sounding wah pedals out there for sure. Probably will sell the old Crybaby one day, and keep the Ibanez and a Boss Auto-Wah (AW-2) and be set.
@englundisgod16 жыл бұрын
the other point of it being a fixed state wah with the fotshwith on so it can be set to one setting like kirk does in fade to black it stays on a fxed setting youl see him turn his off once james starts the clean passage
@9reasy5am15 жыл бұрын
I currently own a vintage cry-baby (I call it vintage, It's just old) that is falling apart (once again, old) and there is one of these at my local music store. As a professional musician considering durability, versatility, and price, I say that this is a great pedal for just 100 dollars.
@robinfinity16 жыл бұрын
yep, it says that when the effect is off, it is true bypassed, but I'm affraid, in auto-mode it is not. Anyway, I'm very close to getting one (just have to sell my current wah). A friend of mine works at a music shop and he was very impressed with it, so it can't be wrong ;).

@taikoking113 жыл бұрын
one thing you did not mention was the small rotary knob under the pedal itself called ''range fine tuing''. I have this pedal, and I must say it has outlasted several of the conventional wha pedals that I had. I gusee there is no pots to maintain, less moving parts? Works for me. But I must say when it comes to playing bluesy guitar stuff, I tend to gravitate to my Rocktron Black Cat wha pedal, seems the sound is thicker and more full. Still Ibanez is a keeper.

@FirePower3006 That's exactly my point. Even though Fender is an established brand, we can't either justify any claim of it being the ultimate rock machine through the fact that Hendrix played them 'cause many brands which are available today didn't even exist back then. So we can't know that Hendrix wouldn't prefer let's say Jackson over Fender if he was alive today..
@maggot663913 жыл бұрын
i just ordered a Dunlop original cry baby... once i get it, im going to GC to trade it in for this pedal! i got bass and guitar! so id be good for me!
@samtay614 жыл бұрын
@Metalhead12828 Ah I meant to say auto switch. As far as I know the WD7JR doesn't have the ability to switch between turning off the effect with either the rocker or a footswitch. My bad my man. Yeah it sounds like gearwire misspoke about auto wah.
@matthewgoodnight9215 жыл бұрын
just got one for christmas. i love the damn thing. :)
13 жыл бұрын
@gwugluud Hendrix didn't choose Fender over Jackson or ESP; the guy just chose something that he liked out of what was available at the time so his use of Fender doesn't justify the brand as the ultimate rock machine; the ultimate rock machine which existed back then in the best case of it..

@GNRSlash94 I have the Ibanez. I do love it but my opinion might not be a trustworthy one because its the only wah wah pedal ive ever owned. I love it but the best thing you could do is go to guitar center and try them out on your own. I think the demon will give you more options but the over all quality might not be as good.
@TheStellerclear3 жыл бұрын
So... If I wanted to get closer to a cry-baby wah effect with it... I should lower the Q knob?
@InVacuo16 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure it doesn't and the way it works it'd probably be pretty hard to modify it to do so - Unless of course you make a separate true bypass pedal, I made one, they're pretty simple provided you have a few basic DIY skills.

@TheMrbongobongo You won't regret it. Every single thing on this pedal is adjustable right down to the tension on the pedal itself. There is literally nothing else you could possibly want from a wah and the price is absolutely reasonable if not a friggin' bargain.

I've heard it isn't so good with fuzz. is that true? i like the fuzz factory kind of crazy fuzz and i like the weeping demon a lot. it would be a shame if they were "incompatible"...
@GingerChristmas8 жыл бұрын
i use a shitload of fuzz pedals, cant say I've had any issues. I dont think it has the same impedance issues with regular wahs due to its lack of an inductor.
@tasfa108 жыл бұрын
whoops... can you explain me the last part??
@GingerChristmas8 жыл бұрын
Its hard to explain easily but as you send signal into a pedal, the circuitry can change the impedance of the signal as it leaves the pedal. Certain pedals expect to receive signals with certain impedance in order to work without any issues. As you run an old wah pedal into a germanium fuzz pedal like a fuzz face, the impedance causes an sort of oscillation as you use the wah pedal, which causes the whining or honking sounds which you might hear. ScreamingFX has a very good explanation video.
@tasfa108 жыл бұрын
thanks. i'll check that out! btw, would you buy this wah again? or would you choose another?

@GNRSlash94 You probably purchased your pedal already but if you have not, then you should get this one, I own this one and not the Zakk Wah Pedal. They really are just the same thing, one has another feature then the other, and they do the same thing.... So.... if your scrapped for cash, get the WD7, if you wanna spend $160 on the exact same wah pedal for a cool paint job, then go ahead and buy the Zakk Wah Pedal. ;-)

@wojpiet Hendrix was really stupid for using Fenders to play heavy rock. That's why the dork never sold any albums or got to play Woodstock or anything. Point well made. How long have you been in this country, may I ask? Your command of English will get better someday.

good bass chops-
@killerbass23416 жыл бұрын
it sounded pretty nice for guitar, but it sounded to synthetic for bass. its a good pedal no doubt. i honestly like the sound and sweep better than a crybaby guitar wah, but as a bass player also, i have the bass 105Q wah which i think has much more sweep for bass. its a lot more responsive. but if youre short on cash and you play guitar and bass, definitely get this.

I heard this pedal had a spring setting, where it offers resistance. Like if you press your foot down on it, then just let it off (not pushing back with your heel), it will return itself to the raised position. Is that true?
