I too have a DV9 LG SLX version and put almost 800 mils on it since I got it a year ago. For me it took a lot of getting use to and I almost sold the bike, but it’s currently my “do everything” bike and it really does everything well, especially climbing. I too changed to a 70mm stem and now I’m back to the 50mm because I like the it better for tech climbs and manuals. The best upgrade was tires, the Rekon Race are fast, but grip is just not good enough in the AZ desert and places like Sedona. I’m now on Maxxis Ardents 2.4 front/back and they roll almost as fast at the Rekons and handle the chunk much better. At some point I want to try a fast rolling 2.6 in the rear because at 61 years old the AZ chunk can get a bit rough. Anyway I enjoyed your 1 year review and I look forward to comparing upgrades in the future…

Yeah I think a tire swap is a good call especially for any real trail riding. Thanks for watching!

you should definitely see how the dv9 feels with a longer fork and more aggressive tires, ive always thought it would be a great contender against the yeti arc in that aspect.
@ElevationEveryWeekend6 күн бұрын
Yes I also feel these two bikes compete closely, although that Yeti is significantly more expensive. It does come with 2.6” tires and a little more fork travel. I really would like to push that trail capability on the DV9 though and see what it can do.

Cool video and a bike! I was wondering what is the angle of your stem?
@ElevationEveryWeekendАй бұрын
@@archibaldstokes it is the Wren Sports lightweight AL stem, 70mm with a 6 degree rise.

Any idea how much it weighs?? I have 2024 ProCaliber 9.5 with full shimano XT drivetrain, Fox 34 120mm travel and dropper seat post. It's blazing fast now and fun to ride. I might get DV9 or even Yeti Arc next year. You cannot have too many bikes.

@@MrWolf2212 My large DV9, set up tubeless is 26.3lbs as ridden (bottle cages, pedals, trail bell). This was slightly lighter than my 2022 Procal, which is running a lighter than stock Reba fork.

I am 6'2" and usually ride a size Large MTB, but Ibis recommends an XL for the DV9 for my height. How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? thanks!
@ElevationEveryWeekend2 күн бұрын
@@alohaufaka_geology I am 5’11” and the large works well for me. As a side note, I did end up putting a slightly longer stem on my DV9 and it made a big difference for me. I think their recommendation for XL is probably good for your height, but it is always tough to judge bike sizing for people over the internet.

Thanks a lot for the reply, this is really helpful. I plan to test ride the bike later this week 🤙🏽
